I've just looked at my Boots order history and I spent £195 in last year's 75% off sale! I think I may have bought some items in store as well, although I can't remember if I actually queued up outside. I'm going to see how much of the stuff I still have left.

That CANNOT happen this year! I was going to try to pick up a few men's sets for my son for his birthday and next Xmas. However, he moved out ages ago and he still has several body sprays and shower gels in his room here so I need to get maybe a maximum of 2 items, one for his birthday and one for Xmas. Not worth sharpening my elbows (actual or virtual!) just for that.

I have a training day on Wednesday for some voluntary work I will be starting soon (unless I get a job first, which seems unlikely!) It will be my first full day's work (albeit unpaid) since I left work last June, so I need a good night's sleep the night before. I do some other voluntary work but the longest shift I do is 4 hours, so a full day could be a shock to the system, even with a good night's sleep!

Hello everyone, it's a fine sunny morning where I am, but probably won't last!

I have 2 UUs to report:

OPI cran & berry Hand and Body Lotion, 30ml. Smelt nice, but no other effect, so WNBA. Tons of other hand creams (and body lotions) in stash!!

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shampoo, 50 ml. I like to use this now and again to perk up my (coloured) hair colour, so WBA, but only after I've used up the other shampoos in my stash. (Emphasis is for me!!)

  • Afternoon ladies. Well we gap had a gloriously sunny morning here, I was lucky enough to be sent home early and now the rain has returned.

Does anyone know how long nail treatments and things like base coats and top coats should be kept? All mine are at least a decade old as I hardly ever use them. I've ordered some lovely new stuff from nails inc but can't bear to throw the old stuff.

  • I've been really naughty and have three INs to declare:

    - Jean Paul Gaultier Classique The Sailor Girl In Love EDT 100ml
    - Yves Saint Laurent Teint Touche Eclat in BR20 30ml
    - Benefit It's Potent! Eye Cream 14.5g

However... before you all shout at me I'd like to point out they were all bought with vouchers so they are no-spend INs. Plus apart from the perfume they're things I'll need soon - I'm nearly out of my Bourjois foundation but think the Maybelline is too dark for me so will try and sell that on, and I needed the eye cream as I'd used up my sample and it's the only thing I've found that works on my horrible dark circles!

Generally I work on the rule for everything that if it doesn't smell off or the texture hasn't gone funky then it's OK to use it. But that said, I am currently using a Revlon base coat that I've had for about two years, so I may not be the best example :o

Glad to help. I am seriously lusting after the new Smashbox palette myself. Birthday coming up in Feb though so am hoping my lovely friends at work give me a Boots Gift card again.

Wandered into Boots yesterday to look at this IRL and it is gorgeous.

I also thought I'd tell you that I have devised a rota for my perfumes, every week I will use one perfume and one alone, and change it every monday, this will mean all my bottles get equal 'air time' and I don't get bored and start wanting to buy new ones!

I've decided to do this too. I don't actually count my perfumes in my list but this week I UUed a sample size of Liz Earle Botanical Essence. Was nice but I wouldn't buy it myself. Am using L'Occitane Fleur D'Or & Acacia this week (this is a travel size as well).

Speaking of which I have another UU: L'Occitane Fleur D'Or & Acacia soap. WBA. This fragrance is lovely but have far too many soaps/shower gels to repurchase right now.

Ooh which Smashbox palette is this? I am eyeing up the Too Faced Chocolate bar eyeshadow palette now. Saw some reviews yesterday and it looks lovely. Rather pricy though at £45. Going to wait until I get my Debenhams beauty club points through and then buy it I think or wait for a 10% off. Not sure when they will next do the 10% off, hopefully soon.

Some lovely INS there minerva windsong. I have just started using the Benefit eye cream, hope I get on as well with it. I really didn't get on with their old eye cream, eyecon.

I am finally going to report my INS from the last few days (oh the shame!) I wish I hadn't started counting make up but I think I need to as seeing how much I spend will hopefully shock me and make me cut back. I am also declaring any toiletry spends now where as before I wouldn't declare things that I didn't stash, such as deodorant. I have decided to do this because I want to see how much I spend on all toiletries and make up in a year.

    So the INS

6 - Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
7 - Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer
8 - Revlon Lip Butter Raspberry Pie
9 - Revlon Lip Butter Juicy Papaya
10 - La Roche Posay Effaclar AI
11 - Hugo Boss Jour Eau de Parfum 30ml
12 - Hugo Boss Jour Body Lotion 100ml
13 - Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Pore Strips
14 - Sure roll on Deodorant

I'm not going to declare amounts spent on here as I am too embarrassed. Keeping my own log though. Numbers 11 & 12 were a late Christmas gift. The make up products are ones that have been on my wish list for a while and the other things were needed.

No UU yet but I have 3 things that are very nearly UU so I am going to declare them now, to make myself feel better :rotfl: -

4 - La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo 40ml - WBA and already have

5 - Dior Pure Poison Eau de Parfum 100ml - WBA but need to get through other perfumes first

6 - Next Just Pink Eau de toilette 30ml - WNBA, this was a gift and was nice enough, would use if received as a gift again

    RIGHT!
After trawling through my makeup drawer, hair stuff drawer and ALL the bathroom cupboards, I have made a (9 page long :o) word document listing all my beauty stash. And the grand total is....

    Da--da-da-DAAAH!

    294 PRODUCTS!

This includes 70+ eyeshadows  I stopped counting at 70, and I only counted multiples and palettes as 1  Many are years old but as I don't expect to use up many over the next 12 months I won't include them in my total.

So far, since NYD I have UU:
    Sainsbury Coconut Shampoo 1l
    Sainsbury Coconut Conditioner 1l
    Tesco Family Shower Gel 500ml
    DKNY Woman 50ml
    DKNY Be Delicious 50ml

    And I have TA:
Timotei Organics Brazil nut and something shampoo

Any INS are included in the 294, TBH I can only remember buying toothpaste since NY, but it's already in the list. I will include any 'new' INS from today onwards.

    SO... 294 - 70 + 6 = 230

Off to update my sig! I haven't had a sig 'til now, how 'citing :D

Fizz Whizz I am with you on the eyeshadow front I think, I don't dare count :rotfl:

Just been looking at some empties posts on some beauty blogs and found myself thinking 'you call that empty?' Loads of the things still had the dregs in the bottom, I couldn't bare to not UU the last bit :money:

The eyeshadows don't take up much space at all, the box they're in is smaller than a sheet of A4 and only as high as a Sleek palette on it's side (convenient!) so I was amazed and disturbed in equal measure just how many are in there. I certainly DO NOT need any more, no matter how pretty!

I was chomping to post a UU this morning as I am almost finished my current curl creme but there's one more day in it if I scrape 'round the pot, therefore it's not UU yet. In short, I hear ya, sistah ;)
