No UUs still to report although I'm thinking that I may have to give away the Elemis hand lotion that I am using at work. For a while now I have had a dry patch of skin on the right palm. It becomes itchy, sore and flaky. It has cleared up considerably over the Christmas period however today at work I've noticed that it's become red again after using this lotion. Such a shame as there is loads of it left. It must surely be this product that is too potent for my hands? Anyone else experienced this problem with it?
I donated this bottle of lotion to the ladies at work today as I am now pretty sure it is this that was causing my hand to flare up so I now have an OUT to report. Unfortunately I also gained an IN as my lovely friend Joanne gave me a tube of L'occitane Shea Butter hand cream she had in her drawer. Don't know how much is left in it as it's pretty squished up. Will have to try and remember to take my tube key to work with me.
I also have 2 UUs to report:-
1. L'occitane Verbena hand cream 15ml. Would use again if I got it in a kit (this one came in a travel kit) as I much prefer the L'occitane Lavender one.
2. Elemis Pro Collagen Eye Renewal serum. Same here. Not adverse to using it but didn't see any miraculous results from using this.
Both these products were on my PP List which is now down to three items (listed below in order of spluttering!):-
Mark Hill Straightening Spray - can feels very light
Origins Starting Over eye cream 5ml
Philosophy Pumpkin Pie shower gel full size - maybe about one third of it left.wondercollie wrote: »VALM: thanks for the tips. Husband has decided he is going to Gibralter and Marakesh. I want to see Gibralter because I have a photo of my Granda there when he was in the Navy. Stood up at the top of the hill in uniform with an ape behind him. I really want to see the Alhambrah (my spelling is horrid, I just woke up), it's on my bucket list.
You're welcome wondercollie. We have visited Gibralter twice. The first time was when we were staying at Mijas Costa and travelled down. It was a coach trip and we were booked onto one of the boat trips down there to see the dolphins. We therefore didn't have that much time to see Gib.
In 2011 we went on a cruise and ported at Gibralter. We went up the rock then and saw the monkeys. You have to watch out for them as they pick pockets and handbags. Going on a cruise again this August and stopping at Gibralter again.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I find that this congests my skin also. I know I threw away a 5ml tube of this last week. Have no idea why I was holding onto it.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Gosh it's been busy
welcome to all newbies and friends who are popping in
I have 4 OUTS- 4 minis that I gifted to 2 friends for a Christmas gift.
No more UUs but lots are splutterings.
Hasn't today's weather been awful? Getting really fed up of the wind and rain. :mad:Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.
Take time but don't waste time0 -

Isn't it fantastic, I wish all deliveries tracked like that.
Although, I must admit I get a little bit obsessed tracking him.
Hmmm, he was a long time delivering parcel 23, what was he up to?! :rotfl:
Ahem, yet another Restraining Order :rotfl:Ahhh wondercollie & VALM... I was in Marbella in July for a week and basically did day trips out along the coast everyday...
wondercollie, I can recommend:
1. Mijas - lovely... there was a tapas tour going on that month and we got suitably merry visiting about 10 bars/restaurants and getting a snack and beverage for 1.50 euro a pop! Our tapas passport got stamped at every place we went.
There is also a row of shops a few paces from the tourist centre and one is a chocolate shop owned by the loveliest most enthusiastic expat. He gave us samples of a million ice cream flavours and took us upstairs to the chocolate factory for a tour - defo worth a look in if you're there!
Malaga is also definately worth a walk around - we went to a classical concert, the arts and culture in the city is really very good. I also hit Zara and Mango which are much cheaper here than in England.
& Finally, we went to Fuenguirola - there was a nice market that moves to marbella and other locations throughout the week - great to pick up gifts/local pottery etc. I probably wouldn't return to Fuenguirola tbh and would go to the market in a different location if I went again. But a big expat community and many expat owned restaurants I think.
Beer is cheaper than water... Enjoy!
Hi Parisian, sorry to snip your post but wanted to comment on those places I've also been.
I am jealous of your tapas tour of Mijas.
We also visited Malaga last year on our cruise and enjoyed the day thoroughly. Was very relaxing eating smoked sardines on the beach. I think we visited Louis Vitton there as well as Emma wanted to look at the handbags. The SA Juan was very nice and very helpful even though in his heart of hearts he much have known he would not make a sale.
Fuengerola is fun for a cheap night out. It is full of "looky looky" men though (the men wandering around selling fake merchandise and dodgy DVDs). Was fun watching them scarper when the Police would turn up now and again.I think I'm going to pop into boots tomorrow try and make use of the S&G skincare voucher came in my Christmas box, I've never used any of the S&G skincare before does anyone have any recommendations?
My skins pretty much normal, dry nose, greasy foreheadso neither here nor there.
x
The only S&G skincare that I have tried is the cleanser which is very much like LE C&P. I have never repurchased it though as the package size was smaller than C&P and I recall it was in a metal tube so was difficult to get all the product out. Didn't have any adverse affects from using it though.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Oh dear me, an INcoming from me soon, tesco make-up glitch, couldn't resist 8 items for under a fiver, but I like a nice selection and I don't think my make-up collection is too bad, really I'll be alright as long as I don't buy skincare or toiletries.

Hi Ladies, I've just discovered this amazing thread and wondered if I could join. Someone mentioned it over on the old style board on a thread for food hoarders and it made me consider how many toiletries I also own:eek:
I know the thread is no buying for Jan but I don't think I need to buy anything until about 2016 apart from toothpaste and tampons (do you count those as toiletries?). I have no idea how I've accumulated so much stuff and I'd hate to think how much money I've spent. I have 100+ nail varnishes, 30+ shower gels, an entire box full of body lotions (I don't even use them!), over 100 hand sanitisers, a cupboard full of foot cream inc 5 foot sock skin peeler kit things (they are amazing though) plus mountains of make up, perfume and other stuff. I'll try to make a list but it will take some time. I also have a scented candle hoard but this might be the wrong place for that!
Hopefully now I've found this thread I can stop some of my unnecessary purchasing!0 -
Thanks for the heads up, I have ordered, but I had already stated that I needed, yes really needed, to buy toner in January. Not very MSE though as I was so excited to see your post I didn't wait to scroll down to the end and missed the discount code, such is life:o

Fingers crossed, I did get an acknowledgement of order.
Have you tried any of the Pixi make-up, there were several things I liked when I looked earlier in the week, but the things I chose were OOS. I am really pleased with the LilyLolo mineral foundation samples and the eye shadow and lip gloss that I bought, as they are cruelty free too I think that I will stay with them. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. UUs to report! Luckily all my sale buys today were clothes and make up, so no need to report them :P
4. Lush Ro's Argan Body Conditioner 45g - WNBA myself, but will happily use as a gift (like this was). It's not something I need to spend money to keep in my routine, but it's a nice little luxury
5. Lush Angel's Delight soap, 120g - WNBA, not a favourite scent and VERY drying!No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in January!UU: 5, IN: 2Total Stash: 99 - ultimate target 33 (year start 99)0 -

Welcome! You're not alone in the toiletries hoarding I promise! A scroll through the first few pages of the thread will show you, mine is post #6.
Some people count EVERYTHING including things like cotton wool, most don't and some don't count things they don't hoard such as toothpaste etc, hthNo Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023
