No buying unnecessary toiletries in January 2014

Evening ladies - I am of course in again, been lurking since the end of last month as haven't had time to post. Welcome to all the newbies and lovely to see some familiar faces such as hammyham and kiplingmonkey :j wondered how you were all getting on.
Rosemary I think I must have been local to you as my previous DPD driver before I moved was also called Roland :rotfl: I didn't know you could look up where they were on their journey though.
Parisian good luck with your challenge, I'm very impressed.
I am loving reading the stash lists and I would LOVE to see people's MAC stashes very much!
Thanks for posting about the pixi glow tonic Clutterfree - I have wanted to try this for ages but I resisted! Decided that after my previous disaster with exfoliating toners that perhaps they aren't for me. Plus I didn't want to pay £4 postage or whatever it was. I was very tempted though so am slightly relieved it is out of stock now.
Rougey your shower gel mishap made me laugh! Maybe you could give some as gifts?!
Right then, my totals for 2013 are - 202 OUTS and 107 INS, not bad!
This year I have decided that I am going to declare make up as INS. I didn't do this last year and my make up buying was a bit out of control as I got into beauty blogs and make up in general a lot more. I have a massive wishlist of products I want to buy but I think I am going to set myself a budget for the year or at least record how much I am spending on make up / toiletries.
So far for this year I have had no INS and 2 OUTS:
1. REN Resurfacing AHA Concentrate 30ml - WNBA, sold on Ebay as broke me out.
2. REN Hyrdra-calm Global Protection Day Cream 5ml - WNBA, didn't think this did anything amazing.
I am pretty disappointed in REN products so far. Currently using the Clay cleanser but not overly impressed with this either!0 -
Have another UU to report;
Avene Cleanance K - WBA, have another one that's almost finished in the stash and a brand new one too. This is the one thing that always sorts my skin out when it's not behaving!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
Hi ruby_eskimo, can I ask how you use avene cleanance k? Do you use other avene products? I'm interested in trying them for my spotty skin.
Thanks!0 -

1. Anthony cleanser

3. Caudalie radiance serum
4. Caudalie night cream
5. SBC collagen gel
6. MB exfoliating cleanse bar
7. LE hand repair
8. Pantene perfect curls shampoo
9. Head & shoulders itchy scalp conditioner
10. Percy & Reed no oil oil.
xx
Morning All.
We'll the first of my PPs is gone.
Actually it will be thrown away.
I was hesitant about using Emma Hardie products again after I had an allergic reaction to her Moringa Balmbut I had a teeny tube of EH eye serum so thought I'd give it a go.
For the first few days all was well and I thought it must just have been an allergy to the balm.
However, this morning I have woken up with dry skin all around my eyes which is very itchy. I know it is this serum rather than any other product because last night I squeezed too much from the tube so had to disperse it beyond my eyes down to my cheekbone!
Well, the dry skin this morning goes down to my cheekbone.
Was only a teeny tube anyway and not much left so no big loss, but think I may have a couple more in my stash.
WNBA!!!!
Don't know what it is in her products that don't like me but I loved her Moringa Balm, it just didn't love me.
Have a good day xxAgeing is a privilege not everyone gets.

totallybored wrote: »Hi Ladies, I've just discovered this amazing thread and wondered if I could join. Someone mentioned it over on the old style board on a thread for food hoarders and it made me consider how many toiletries I also own:eek:
I know the thread is no buying for Jan but I don't think I need to buy anything until about 2016 apart from toothpaste and tampons (do you count those as toiletries?). I have no idea how I've accumulated so much stuff and I'd hate to think how much money I've spent. I have 100+ nail varnishes, 30+ shower gels, an entire box full of body lotions (I don't even use them!), over 100 hand sanitisers, a cupboard full of foot cream inc 5 foot sock skin peeler kit things (they are amazing though) plus mountains of make up, perfume and other stuff. I'll try to make a list but it will take some time. I also have a scented candle hoard but this might be the wrong place for that!
Hopefully now I've found this thread I can stop some of my unnecessary purchasing!
Welcome. I too have a stash of scented candles although I do get through them quicker than body products.

I've updated my signature as when I was finishing up my spreadsheet this morning I realised I'd missed a few things off - oops! They were all stuff I had before though so not counting them as INs. Will nip back to my main list and update that shortly."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0

I have three more uu
Dr Scrub - this was a one use sample, it was a lot like Philosophy Microdermabrasion scrub with a fruity scent. I wouldn't go to the trouble of searching this out.
Valentina EDP 2ml sample - nice enough but nothing to get too excited about.
Liz Earle Brightening Mask 50ml - WBA at some point.
I am doing really well with the uu so far this month but yesterday my Debenhams order from the sale finally turned up, I have counted the spend in December but the ins are for January. This was a moment of complete madness and for a while it looked like the parcel was lost so I would have been refunded but now it is here so here goes:
Philosophy Butter Rum Cake Shower Gel x 2
Philosophy Honey Buns Shower Gel x 2
Philosophy Spiced Gingerbread Shower Gel x 2
Philosophy Raspberry Glazed Shower Gel x 1
Philosophy Shortbread Cookie Shower Gel x 1
Philosophy Fruitcake Set x 2 (3 items in each lovely tin)
14 ins altogether:eek:.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I'm with you on the being ruthless - I am going to use my lipsticks/lipglosses etc this year and any that I decide don't suit me will either be binned or re-homed to my sister. My other resolution is to use a face mask twice a week on the days that I exfoliate (Weds & Sat) - I can't ever see my face mask stash reducing otherwise...Happy to see you back kiplingmonkey, I remember your posts from when I first joined :T
Thanks for the welcome back - I missed all you lovely ladies and it is good to be back hearing all about stash lists, UUs and Holy Grail items!
I like the PP lists everyone is doing - my target is to PP at least 50 items before making any new purchases. I am not going to list them, I am just going to work through my vast and immense stash! On that note, have notched up another 2 UUs:
OPI avojuice vanilla snowflake - I loved the smell of this but I find avojuice a bit too thin and not moisturising enough. My HG is L'Occ shea butter handcream and once my handcream stash is no more this is the only handcream I intend to buy.
LE eyebright soothing eye lotion - does the job ok but would only consider getting this as part of a deal and wouldn't buy on it's own.
Have a great day everyone.0 -
Still not completed my stash list and horrified at how long it is already! Shower gels and body lotions/butters are definitely my problem area. The problem with going through my stash was discovering products that I'd forgotten I had and have never tried before. Bored with what I'm using already but have got too many shower gels and body lotions already opened so have to resist the impulse to open any new ones!3 stone down, 3 more to go0

Some lovely stash lists
, . I think I managed 2013 with less than 10 ins( well bought items anyway got a few Xmas pressies that I'm not counting) aims for this year is not to buy anything as don't think I will need anything.... but I might get a sanctuary set if it goes to 75% off
£365 a year spend challenge - this has included food/clothes/beauty?? who knows where I am
20,000 step a day challenge0
