DS got her to work on time, and got here soon after. He isn't too well, and was asleep on my sofa when I left for work. I was surprised to see that he hadn't gone home ( or to work) when I got home. Alas his bike was on the ground, and a lady was knocking on the door. She just reversed into his bike.!! More damage, the wing mirror has sheered off and a part of the footrest has come off!
He hasn't had much luck with the bike has he!
I have no doubt that he will need funds again to help out until gF gets paid next month. I'm not sure how much longer I can help.
Twin2 needed money again today, and I gave in and lent her £20don't suppose I will get it back though!
I had a big curtain job on today, so was working up in the workroom.
I'm on my own tomorrow, so the little jobs will be tackled.
Plenty of new jobs in today as well. ( in the afternoon after Help had gone).
Finally sorted the programming out for the new embroidery machine - and was catching up on one of the embroideries requested, only for it to go all wrong just before I had to leave to get DGD- so I will have to start it again tomorrow!
The doctors can't fit me in an appointment this week, I have to ring at 8am when they release more slots? What's that all about?
I want to see a doctor before 9.30 or after 5pm but apparantly I can't book before that?
Time for the tramadol, and the heat pad! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
It sounds as if your surgery does a certain number of appointments that can be booked in advance, but saves some for on-the-day ones, IYSWIM. Ours does it too.0

Yes it appears so, but doesn't help when wanting to see early or late. I will try to ring again Thursday as tomorrow I am waiting in for the telephone to be installed.
Another busy day at the shop. All going so well, returning customers which is great. They are bringing in more than one thing at a time now as well.
I have a little contract with a local business to sew labels on their hats today.
All good.
Now I wish my son could be as lucky. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Mooloo - people make their own luck - you've worked really hard to get where you are - your son needs to learn that too!
You work hard even when you're feeling rough - he sleeps on your sofa.....0 -
I certainly am working hard. My neck and arm are testimony to that. As well as the total money at the end of the day. Some days are better then others only dependant on the collection time of things. I have £197 banked this week, with £193 to collect and £203 to do!
Today the telephone engineer is due between 8am and 1pm.
I hope he's not dead on 8am as I have to get DGD to holiday club. Which is 8am start too.
I sat infront of the TV last night crushing up polystyrene pieces and stuffing a thermal cooking bag. Seam to have made the pads too big, so a minor adjustment needed tonight then I can send it on its way.
It took me 2 1/2 hours, but the packaging was free.
I am just having a cup of tea in bed, travel kettle installed back in the bedroom so I can have a cuppa in the warmth of my bedroom.
A Subliminal music tape on to motivate me while I write this, check the emails and bank balances etc.
I want to focus on my spending now as buying in the zips etc for all the different jobs means masses of PayPal transactions. I need to gather together the receipts etc ( currently emails), and print them out. Make sure that they are assigned to the business, and pay my personal funds back to me).
Or my accounting will not be accurate.
My stock orders are higher then I had anticipated as I have had many more zips to do then I expected. But as long as I keep an eye I hope it will even out.
My advertising fee is a big bill soon, but that will then be it for the year.
I have one more rent free month and then the rent will need to be paid out, so it's important I keep my account buoyant and don't spend anything else on impulse. ( when ordering stock from wholesalers or buy too much pre-loved that's not needed!)
Right time to get up and get going.
Have a great day everyone. I know I've a busy morning ahead while I wait for the phone line, and a massage this afternoon when I am closed. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Just a tip for the future (bit late for today) Openreach slots are 8-1pm and 1pm til 6pm but you can request that your call is earlier or later in the slot. I quite often book with a request for a morning appointment but request "after 9.15- school run" or similar and OR are pretty good at accomadating this.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
He rang me at 7.40 waited outside for me, I got there at 8.02am
I now have a phone and broadband so with any luck I can update my website etc now and also use social media to promote my things.
But not tonight.
I had a difficult and heavy job to do this morning, and my arm really did suffer. Thank goodness for my massage at 3pm
Had a bottle of wine from a customer today. Perks of the job hey!
Doing a Tesco dinner for two tonight as I'm feeling very lazy, and then it's back to menu planning and frugal shopping for November!!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
The massage yesterday really really helped. I was able to sleep better, and had so much more movement this morning. I was working by 8.20 this morning, and worked until 5.10 then have been on the computer a lot this evening emailing customers etc
Twin2 actually surprised me by repaying £20 she borrowed! Amazing.
My Mum had drawn me a better logo then the one the firm employed ly to do had done. Dad is bringing her and it over tomorrow when they are bringing my sister and her partner over on their way to MK ( bit of a detour).
My sister is visiting from their home in France. It will be the first time they will see my little shop.
I had a lovely email the other day from a lady who had bought one of my Thermal Bags. I have saved it, as I'd like to use it in my advertising/testimonials or what ever it's called.
I have one lady booked onto the 6 week sewing course. I shall still do it, even though she is the only one - as it will be good practise for me. Not so cost effective but I can use the time to fine tune things.
I am tired tonight. Not surprising. But happy. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Had a second lady book the 6 week sewing course. So that's the fees for the babysitter covered then.
Continued to be busy. Had a unusual request to quote for a company in South London of all places? Wonder how they found me?
And today an array of weird jobs. From tubes for a divers hose requiring zips, marvel mans costume requiring zip mending, and a zip for a trampoline net!!
I had a terrible headache again, so came home at 6 and went straight to bed. DGD is on a sleep over luckily. The Mum just text they are asleep now and she was well behaved. Phew!
Now to try and get back to sleep. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
No help in the shop today. dS's GF was supposed to help, but she was sent home sick from her new job yesterday ( can't see that one lasting, they now also know she is pregnant).
Luckily I only have a small child's lesson at 2pm. Perhaps we can see in the shop on the other desk.
Time to make a move. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
