I shall be on my own in the shop today, my helps son is sick.
But I coped for a month or so on my own. It just slows me down.
Going to be in next years town guide. £200 but Royal Mail will be delivering to all 7,500 homes in the area.
The arm is not good. So my lead time may need to be an extra day, :(
I will book a massage for my next Wednesday afternoon if I can.
    Heat pads at the ready.
Paracetamol in my desk drawer just incase.

DGD had a reasonable parents evening, but her clumsiness is a concern as well as her dyslexia. Hope she doesn't have Mums Dyspraxia!
Time to get ready for work I'm still in my dressing gown!
Watching the Sewing Bee last night got a challenge going locally! I shall be busy!

You might find that a local physio can do an ergonomics assessment for you Mooloo. Mine did both my car and office set up for me years ago - and taught me how to do it myself as well, so having changed car (once) and offices (numerous times) I still get it right!

mooloo My DGS was very clumsy at your DGD's age, but now at the age of 8 he's improved a lot, so fingers x'd the same will be true for your DGD :)

As feared my neck is not good. It hadn't stopped me working, but it's triggered a headache and I feel sick with the pain.
It will be a very early night flat on my back with the electric blanket on.
I shall take my tempar pillow with me to sit on. I need to be about 4" higher and my chair won't go any higher.
I have booked a massage for Wednesday afternoon. ( first chance I can get)
the shop was very busy today. People in the shop from the moment I was open. It meant for a lot of interruptions. Several fittings, and finally a few collecting and paying. I was worried that I hadn't banked much this week. Compared to last week. But when I looked, I have £257 with of alterations finished that are awaiting collection/payment.
So I spent 10 minutes at lunchtime sending out text messages and reminding people to collect, which brought in about £70 this afternoon.
I managed to do 6 pairs of trousers, a blouse that needed shortening.
A knitted dress that needed shortening too.
Not sure I did anything else as was up and down like a yoyo!
Sold a few children's bits and pieces.
Lots of people looking, dispite the rain, and several enquiries for other work.
The mum of my little 7 year old came in to book her another lesson too.
Tomorrow there is no workshop. My first Saturday free. - but I have a big Curtain job on so I will be doing that in the workshop.
DS's GF is supposed to be working for me. Hopefully she will turn up on time.

Yes, they were treating me for that. Although then the gp had a different opinion last year. I did have an OT before, but moved catchment when I came here.
But I feel I'm heading back and that's not good, and I will do whatever I can not to slide back!!
( pain level is highest I can remember in 2 years now!)
    Not good.
I will get a massage booked as soon as I can!

Might be worth considering an appt with your GP for their up to date opinion in the light of the full time work you're doing and your seating isn't suitable. HTH

Yesterday was a steady plod kind of day. For the first time I didn't have a course booked. Which was a god send really, as we are sorting out the preloved clothes up on the top floor. Also DS's GF was supposed to be there for 9.30. Around 10.30 DS text, they had slept through the alarm. By then I said not to bother as one of my friends had popped in and she gave me a hand until 12ish.
They strode in at 12.30 to give me a hand. ( DS went home and did some gardening, and she sort of did---- not much but distract me really, and non stop waffle! When DS came back at 3 I told her to go as well.
I don't think I could have kept my mouth shut another hour!
    I had a rotten headache.
In the evening DGD had a Halloween party with 60 of her school mates!
What a noise! I sat in a corner and tried to let the world go by me until my tramadol for my neck/arm kicked in!
Spent the evening in front of the TV.
Today we are going to a fabric sale in the village hall and on to dinner with my eldest, Biggest of Mooloo.

Well I never got to the fabric sale, so I saved myself some money. Dug out Red felt and cream fleece, and helped a friend make his own Santa Hat. We just need the bobble for the end now.
We had a great afternoon and a lovely meal at Biggest of a Mooloos. DGD didn't want to come home. She's playing in the bath now with her Robo Fish.
I'm hoping I will sleep better tonight. I really have a very busy week ahead with over £300 worth of alterations booked in to do.
Took some £446 this last week, with £193 worth of work waiting to be collected. So I am thrilled with the way things are going.
    Long may it continue.

Yes indeed. The cashflow looks good, what's the profit like? Is it running in accordance with your forecast?

  • Well done Mooloo!!! I'm cheering you on from the Fylde Coast. I'm in awe of you. I think you're doing a brilliant job.

Stuff DS's GF. If she can't work professionally, then she'll have to pay you back what she owes in cash, rather than time working in your shop.

Have you managed to set up a little area for DGD so you can work in peace at your shop or is your friensd daughter watching her this week? xxx

This week DGD is going to be in the Holiday Club, at Stepping Stones. It's where she goes after school during the week so she is very familiar with it, the staff and children that go to her school. It costs £25 a day, but I can get some of it back via my tax credits.
However as my part time lady can't work school holidays, and Molly's daughter is home from Uni for part of the time, she is going to step in in the shop. So everyone is happy.
    ( I hope).
DS's GF actually starts a new paid job this morning at 7am here in town, so DS will have to take her etc. So he will come here afterwards to save on Fuel, ( food and heating probably too). Which reminds me DGD will need a packed lunch! Oops I'd forgotten that with school dinners! Time to raid the fridge and cupboards and see what I can do. I'm practically out of milk and snack foods, I never went to the supermarket yesterday.
I haven't been sticking to a menu plan lately so I had better keep a better routine or my housekeeping will spiral.
I had a tax credit adjustment of £6.89 today. Every little helps.

My income is on target. My expenses have been a little higher then I had planned due to purchasing some extra clothes for the middle floor, but it's still going well, and I believe the middle floor will generate funds sooner rather then later, and up the income forecast for 2nd hand goods.
My forecast for lessons is not accurate enough, but it is early days and people need to still get to know about upstairs.
On the whole it's going well.
I shall keep an eye on it and keep tweaking the forecasts as I develop.
I do need to get my receipts etc all on to the internet accounting system though! Another job for the evening. My niece is possibly going to do my accounts soon, but as the family commitment is so far not great then I may get another person up here to do it, but for now I can do most of it.

If DS gets his GF to work on time then I expect a visit in the next 20 minutes or so. Time to shake a leg and get on with things then.
