I don't have the luxury of a partner here to help me with the shop etc,
Most partners would be out doing their own job full time though Mooloo, so that would make no difference.

My concern is that they take DGD away if they get half a chance, and I wouldn't know what to do if they refused to return her. ( putting aside anything sinister, more the ignorance, and possibly the financial implications). I want to try to explain my stand to twin1, etc but fear his influence is huge!
DGD was with me today, but other then being open, I didn't really get much done.
I am home, with a stinking headache and my stress levels are high.
Wonder if DGD can stay out of trouble while I have a soak in the bath, have a scented candle and some lavender in the air.

I'm too stressed and it's affecting my arm dramatically. Need to nip that in the bud now!

Am I right in thinking you have three bedrooms with the third currently a workroom ?

Yes. I have three bedrooms. I still use the middle one as a workroom, as there are jobs I still have to do at home. Why? What were you thinking?

DGD played and I had a bath, which with listening to some subliminal music mix, scented candle, cup of tea, I was able to relax my muscles a bit. Inabling me to cope without a return to the medications I used to take. Although I am well aware my shoulder/neck/arm is not 100% still.
I had trouble converting some files etc on the computer for the embroidery machines, but with a little help from a friend who popped in, I think I can now finish an order.
I sent a message, a long message to twin1, telling her that I would reduce her contact, to only her, and she would have to make her own way here, if her BF mentions ever again his silly notion in front of DGD, or attempts to put it in action. That the courts would not overturn their decision, and all he is doing is confusing DGD, and dividing the family. That I didn't have to give her contact, and would indeed stop it if I felt he was trying to do anything like it. She said she didn't know he was going to say it, and that he would keep his mouth shut. ( I doubt he can). But the warning has been issued.
DGD will go today, but if the place is not up to scratch, she will come to the shop with me, and I will cope as I eventually always do.

We will see what happens today.

I have help for 4 hours today. My second floor is now ready to open today.
I am determined to stay positive, focused and My little business on track.

DGD only woke once last night, huge improvement. Her shingles are beginning to crust over, and reduce in redness. Fingers crossed she doesn't suffer much longer.

  • Well done mooloo: this is a very distressing situation for you and you took a deep breathe, helped yourself with a relaxing bath and being very clear , in writing, to twin 1 that the bf behaviour, in front of DGD was unacceptable.
Because that is the bottom line isn't it - real love means putting a child's needs before your own and not distressing her by discussing such things in front of her: total evidence that he is not capable of being a good father to her, even if he was the nicest lad in the world.

Keep a copy of your message - and her response, Mooloo - just in case it is needed. x

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I was thinking if you had an au pair you could make life a heck of a lot easier for yourself (and not having a workroom at home would mean you'd have to sort out your work life balance which would be a plus) a student prepared to do afternoon pick up and after school care in exchange for rent would be another option. (a student wouldn't mess up council tax either)

    Now that's a good idea .....
