Just popping in to report my latest NSD's. As I was working yesterday and today, they were NSD's, but Wednesday was a surprise NSD.
I think at this time of year I don't go out much. When the weather improves, I think I'll be out and about more, so the challenge will get more challenging as we get nearer to spring and summer
So to sum up
NSD 8 , 9 and 10 ( and three in a row)Early retired - 18th December 2014

I am able to declare NSD13 for yesterday:)
No NSD for today though, as I went into Belfast city centre to do some shopping:D. I did save a bit of cash by getting the train in though, which is cheaper than paying for parking etc:money:
I visited the sales in Debs and got a new coat at 60% discount;)
Donna, I hope you get things in work sorted out soon and you shouldn't be put under pressure to return until you are ready!
Kerri, do mean pole as in pold dancing? If so, you deserve a medal, as I'd imagine Bootcamp to be more than enough exercise!
Apologies to MissE, as I missed your name when thanking ETO and Sazzie for the updates yesterday. So thank you:T
I hope everyone else is well and I'm off out to do a little bit of grocery shopping:p
I do indeed red, been doing pole dancing / fitness classes for about 5 1/2 years now. It's deff a good all body work out. This is a new class we've joined as our prev teacher has moved. Different, but seems good, and it's kinda that or nothing so need to be positive about it. It's also why I initially took up boot camp in order to build the strength to progress to some of the moves I wanted, and still, want to learn.
Well non NSD confessional here. Went into town and bought some quorn mince for chilli tomorrow, quorn as OH is veggie. Also got another baileys bomb dessert thing we had at Xmas, was gorg and half price. Date on it is 2015 but no way it will last that long :rotfl: any way that came out of the house grocery budget.
But then I realised I hadn't actually bought a sympathy card for our neighbours daughter, so there went a NSD. ..it gets worse though. Ordered a top online and a filler dress to make up for free postage....but the dress on arrival is really niceI then commented, ohhh it would be nice as a maxi dres....and guess what ...yep it comes in maxi with 50% off....well you can guess the rest.
Also saw those boots I ordered have gone down in price again  so belt tightening readjusted....:(Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

sad of me but on may way home was thinking about this thread and looking forward to putting in my NSD#13
interesting reading what some folk "count" as spendy days and none spendy days
I have direct debits and diesel as my NSD's everything else counts as a spend day
i just checked my online banking this time last month i had had 31 withdrawals from my account .(including the direct debits ) but a HUGE amount i know it was Dec but THATS A LOT !!
this month only 9 transactions so one heck of a difference
Off this weekend but am planning to stay clear of the shops there is nothing i NEED
i had a fleeting idea of nipping into my localish charity shop that had fantastic books all for 50p and i havent been in there for ages but i have decided i have LOADS of books i havent read yet so i am going to abstain and have a fine walk with my pooch instead and bake bread
well ...thats the plan,,

jammy I exclude the following spends from counting;
Direct debits - mobile, dental care, pole class
Fitness - boot camp (I know pole is also fitness but boot camp isn't on a dd, and in the summer I do and additional PAYG session)
Milk and petrol (both essentials in our house, milk prob more than motion lotion lol)
At Xmas I usually count Xmas gifts too, I do have a budget for those but also try to use my 'everyday' money if I can.
B'Day gifts still unsure about whether to count or not.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

On the whats counted and what's not counted as NSD's for me...
I don't include direct debits as spends, as they have to come out of my account and have to be paid.
I include everything else as spends, so I try to collate spends, so if I need petrol then I'll try and go grocery shopping etc. I really am aiming to reduce my misc spends though.
It's also trying to change my mindset so that if I do spend on something then I don't just 'pop' to the local t3sco as I've already spent that day.
Thinking about it I probably shouldn't include things like MOT and servicing of car etc as that is also required, but in my head anytime I hand over money or my debit card then it is a spend.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -
Morning all,
Reporting in with NSD #9 & 10 for Thursday and yesterday. I need to pull my socks up a bit if I'm going to make my target this month.
I have changed my methods somewhat as things like unexpected school trips/donations and milk runs keep scuppering my plans. I don't count bills as they need to be paid come what may or petrol. At the beginning of month, I put petrol money and a small amount of contingency fund in an envelope for each week. Any money not spent at the end of the week then goes into the following week. It seems to be working quite well. I just need to keep a better eye on things. This week passed in a blur of sickness, work and school.
Hope all is well in the land of the NSDer, will try to catch up with the thread now :eek:CC1 £5999 Total Debt March 2021 £5999

My NSD rules are;
I draw out the cash for petrol and train money each month and split into 4 weeks and if I stick to the budgets I count it as a NSD
I draw out the cash for the food shop and split into 4 weeks and if I stick to the budget I count it as a NSD.
Birthday and Christmas presents I save up monthly for in a separate account and when I spend from here I count it as a NSD as the spend comes out of a planned budget.
Car costs are the same, I save up monthly for all car costs - tax, mot, insurance, service and parts and then if all come in on budget count it as a NSD.
I also don't count prescription costs and I save monthly for dental costs and if these come in on budget count these as a NSD.
Same rules apply for holidays, haircuts, dog costs, house insurance, household appliances and house decorating which I budget monthly for and if I stick to the budgets I can count as a NSD.
I count spend days if I go over my budgets set, if I have an unplanned spend or I buy something not budgeted for or saved for.
They work for me to help me stay on track. When I first joined this challenge ages ago I didn't do this, it's all progress over the last 12 months. The only 2 areas left to save for are a social budget and clothes spend budget if I can scrape some money from somewhere to do this......I wish!
Looks like a NSD weekend here as have £9 to last until payday!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
HI All
And my variation is DD don't count as long as they stay within budget - so I don't run up massive mobile phone bills etc
Fuel doesn't count as NSD as long as within budget,
Food doesn't count if its within my budget
Medicines are excluded - & I have a prepay certificate on DD
& just about everything else is a spend, happy days.
Have a fun weekendDebt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.
