Hi all
Thanks for letting me know what you count as a NSD. I'm a bit wiser now, i'll count mine as not spending money towards the grocery challenge i think.
We did our weekly shop yesterday and spent £33.95 in Ald1 and £35.51 in Mr M, hopefully this should last us until at least next Friday when i'll do a top up shop for the weekend then a big shop Sunday for my partner's work lunches.
Hopefully today will be a NSD. The weather is miserable again here, i need to pop into Boots later to collect DS' new pushchair from their click and collect service, get the Sun newspaper as i've decided we'll do the Sun holiday this year and i've got a mystery shopping job to do whilst in town also (won't be counting that towards spends as i get the money back).
Will update sig later Suze2015 wins :j Sekonda watch, Harry Potter hardback book,0 -
Well I did my main shop yesterday. Lidl, B&M, Pets at home n Holland &Barrett. My total this week £71.43. I am very pleased with this.
Next wk I shall b popping into Sainsburys cause I have some coupons £6 off a £30 shop! Planning to get some meat for us and cat food.
I am actually getting a little bit of Room in the freezer. I ave updated my signature.0 -

It's brilliant and I love it
Luckily, our family lives near so we all get together every other Sunday. We have 3 daughters with hubbies and 9 children between them, my sister with hubby and 2 children, my mum and us. We knocked 2 rooms into one for dining room and we have the most wonderful time
It is expensive, but our biggest expense and well worth it just to have our family around us and keep those special ties. What's that old saying? A family who eats together stays together?
We consider ourselves very, very lucky
I totally agree with you on that score. I am having my parents over for tea tonight. They only live around the corner but I don't see them half as much as I should/could as I'm always "busy". One of my goals for this year is to make more time for people who matter - and they matter.
Have a wonderful time. x0 -
Quick nip into Mr T this morning. Came out with 6 packets of 100 napkins at 25p each so £1.50. I figured that they are cheaper than kitchen roll at that price. I popped a hole in the middle and cut a square out of the middle and then sellotaped around the edges so they won't be all flying over the place/drawer - like a little napkin dispenser. Quite chuffed with myself although they are pink and don't really go with my red kitchen but I'll take this one for the team.0

Had to edit signature - found a receipt for Nando's on NYD for £25.90 aswell so now up to £33.00 (didn't want to cheat and conveniently "forget" it).0

Meal planning done up until next Friday now. It is planned around using up things in the freezer and fridge so I only have a few bits I will need to buy. This would come to £10 or less so pretty pleased with that!
Today's meals:
Lunch - HM Bruschetta - using up some left over tomatoes and peppers with HM bread.
Dinner - carrot and coriander soup with HM bread and then HM Fruit crumble.0 -
Coxy, sorry to be a nuisance but can I change from a monthly to a yearly budget? I will find this easier as I tend to bulk buy when items are on offer. My yearly budget will be £2400 to cover groceries, toiletries, cleaning bits for two adults.
Many thanks,
Peony x

Not feeling too peachy today after yesterday so gave oh £20 and sent him to the shops for more toilet roll (have a very snotty family atm) cobs, ham, double cream. .. and he came back with chip shop and drinks too so that's all the money gone, that is also the reason why I don't take him shopping with me, always end up with stuff we don't need.
Hoping for a NSD tomorrow as working a long day
