No spending from any budget for us since Dec 30th...I'm embracing the lack of visitors/the need for specific meals/food that comes at Christmas & NY (although I adore the traditions and tasty food! Don't get me wrong!)
In fact, today we popped to town for the stroll and to collect my next free Bounty pack for baby and returned some school uniform that didn't fit from December...so £13.50 back in our purse as we'd already found some that fit in a different shop in December too...so budgeted in 2013.
I'll do our weekly shop on Sunday as my hubby is off, but we have so much in the freezer - soup from the turkey stock, turkey frozen in gravy for a quick roast, turkey chunks for an easy curry, some Christmas pudding for a treat, a little puff pastry ready to become a pie or pasties...as well as some mince and salmon that I didn't manage to use up before Christmas arrived. Pantry is nice and full too...so thinking just fruit, veg, bread, milk and some specifics to make the freezer/pantry come together and make tasty meals and school lunches for the week.0 -
Just a small spend today at the local shop of £4.63 so not too bad.
I have just done an inventory of my kitchen cupboards and have enough to feed a small army! I dragged everything out as lots of things were mixed up and I couldn't see the wood for trees!
Everything is back in cupboards in (date) order with like for like and include the following
9 jars of pasta sauce
8 tins of baked beans
8 tins of soups
4 jars of curry sauces
3 different casserole mixes.
Depending on which of the family members decide to hang around at feeding time this lot of food will either last me ages or be gone in a flash! Either way I feel a bit more in control - just need to marry it all up with the freezer list I have and come up with a few menu plans.
Hopefully I'll stick to being a bit more organised this yearCrazy Clothes Challenge 2012 £57.20/£100,CCC 2013 £68.67/£100 ,CCC 2014 £94.32/£100

rubber_duk - worth a visit to GP just for a check up, this happened to me last year and found out that I was so anaemic that had to have to have blood and a weeks stay in hospital.
Had first spends today coming to £13.17 but will need some fruit & veg tomorrow.
We had cheese & potato pie tonight with salad, added some mushrooms and onions to it and it was all used up (was thinking there may be a small portion left for lunch tomorrow)MARCH £62.38/2500 -
NSD for me yesterday and did the weekly shop today. Went to T3sco and got some pate reduced to £1, which we will have on toast tomorrow and Sunday (if it lasts!) for lunch, a chicken lattice reduced to £3, which should make 2 meals for the 2 of us, and some chocolate covered digestive bar things that were on offer at just 50p for 6 bars, which will be great for OH to take to work with him. Also got a couple of essentials and it all came to £8.06.
Then went to Ald! and the shelves were nearly empty! I was a bit annoyed because I'd been really good and planned our meals for a week and then they had totally run out of things like mince and semi-skimmed milk! Ended up spending £28.14, which should last us all week but will have to get some milk tomorrow.Thank you to everyone who posts on here0 -
Two weeks until payday and we still have over £85 left. It's hard to be precise because whenever I pay by debit card in Aldi the funds don't debit right away!
Bacon, potato and spring onion frittata for dinner tonight which was wonderfully tasty.0 -
