Hi Coxy (and everyone else),
Please can I be included again? I will try £3600 for the year and I will keep a separate "pot" to save for Christmas 2014. I am hoping I can keep at the same as last year by shopping smarter and eating more simply.
Good luck everyone and especially Zip - fingers crossed for a good year for you

62p spent today on a pasty because I was starving on my break, but that's it for today.
Tomorrow I might take a walk to the shops with the offspring for some veg but don't plan on doing too much as I went and fainted this morning! Shouldn't be in work now but needs must, have pulled pork and rice when I get home later, can't wait.
XxxJanuary GC - £ 36.89/£2000 -
Chicken & Chorizo Gratin
400g diced chicken breast (I used less, and you could easily use leftovers from a roast
100g chorizo diced
Breadcrumbs made from 2 slices bread (I use low-cal bread, any bread would be fine)
1 Courgette
1 yellow or orange pepper
400g tin of chopped tomatoes
1 onion diced
1 clove garlic crushed (I used garlic powder)
1 tsp Oregano
1 tsp Basil (I didn't have the individual herbs so used Italian mixed herbs)
1 tsp paprika
Salt & pepper
20g grated cheddar cheese (This is a WW recipe, which is why the portion of cheese is so small! You could add more if you wanted. I used strong cheese, so the small amount was plenty)
1 tbs tomato puree
1 tsp olive oil
1. Fry the chicken & chorizo in the olive oil until browned
2. Remove from the pan, using a slotted spoon, and put an oven proof dish
3. Fry the onion & garlic in the chorizo oil until soft, add the courgette, pepper, tomato puree and herbs.
4. Then add the tinned tomatoes, bring to boil and simmer for a few minutes until reduced.
5. Remove from heat and stir over the chicken and chorizo
6. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs & cheese over mixture and bake in the oven at 180 for about 25 mins0 -
NSD number 3, took lunch to work and had fish and chips from freezer with mushy peas. Big shop in Mr M on the cards for tomorrow though0

Tanks for posting, mooomin. I'm doing SW and this is can be amended to suit that to a T.0 -
Just done a shop based on my meal plan for the month. £23.10 in l1dl and £11.59 in t3scos.
I'm hoping the bulk of this will last a fortnight and I only need extra fruit and veg next week. Surprised I managed it though, they had hardly anything on the shelves in either place!0 -
I have a short list for Mr S:
Fruit - apples, bananas, oranges, basics grapes
Dishwasher salt
Basics eggs
Yogurts - going to check to see if the basics are GF
Skimmed milk
Basics tissues
Basics sandwich bags
Wholemeal wheat loaf
Let's see if I can stick to my list.
I spent just under £20 in Mr S got everything on my list but did get crisps and some YS GF rolls for lunches over the next 2 weeks as well. I used to buy the big bags of Tyre11s crisps and pork crackling for DH at a cost of £4+ but got 12 bags for £2 which will last us the week instead of one night:)
We had the sundried tomato and chorizo recipe from the index for tea tonight. This is a favourite in our house and we have it often.
I have just remembered a net of lemons in the fridge leftover from Christmas so I will be baking this weekend after all; lemon drizzle DH favourite.
I am not planning to spend any more money on food until Thursday when the fruit will run out.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Another NSD here, 2 so far this month! That's amazing for me, usually I get a choccie bar virtually every day if nothing else, and so far had no chocolate either. I've eked out the milk, and got a loaf of bread out of the freezer for the kids brekkie tomorrow specifically so I didn't have to go to the shop.LBM Dec 2013 ~ DFD Sept 2016!
