  • Hi Everyone,

    Hope you are all well
...January is nearly over and declaring as not spending anymore for this month. I came in this month at £221/£240!:).
    Things I found helpful...
    - Sticking to the list.. to the letter (if it wasn't on it, I wasn't buying it!)
    - continuously asking myself do I really need it?
    - refusing to go to the supermarket unless it was really necessary...which helped as then made us really make use of what is already there as opposed to just then casually going shopping.
    - spending diary and mysupermarket to keep track of spending.
I think I did ok, but still need to make some improvements.

I have read on here about breadmaking and I am hoping to try this again and see if I can get somewhere with it.

    All the best for February...

    Hi everyone,

Last day of Jan's budget for me is tomorrow and I've done my last spend today of £2.02 in Liddell. I've got £1.82 left in my purse so I have come in under budget, yay! Am going to reduce next months budget slightly as it's a shorter month and donate the remaining money to a different budget that definitely needs it more.

Well done to everyone this month and good luck for next month!
  • so pleased i have not spent anything on groceries for nearly a week and have stayed within my budget for January
(leaving purse at home at staying away from supermarkets certainly helps):D

looking forward to Februarys challenge and vow to continue to use up some of my frozen delights
    thanks to all who post
    very motivating and inspiring

A1di was packed this morning, its getting very popular. Spent £25.87 which leaves £15.85 left. Hopefully wont buy anything tomorrow but wont declare until certain.

Did the Hairy Dieters Lamb hotpot for tea with some of the kale I got the other day. Photo doesn't do it justice - it was gorgeous. Grandson came and he wolfed it down. Plus theres another one gone in the freezer just needs the potatoes adding to it.

    Another NSD :)

Cheese sandwiches/tuna sandwiches for me and DH for dinner

Pan fried sea-bass and pasta salad for tea. Only got one more lot of sea-bass so will have to order some more in a few weeks, as I've still got haddock left.

My few hours out tomorrow and think it might be my turn to pay for dinner so am pleased have got some cash left in the budget!

Hope everyone's ok. Take care :)

Been awol for a couple of days as I had some surgery on Wed and have been recuperating chez the parentals :) :j
Haven't spent anything on groceries or entertainment since Tuesday - and hoping to keep it down over the weekend as well. I'm going out for dinner tonight though.

I scored some Christmas ham (frozen) from Mum too, woohoo! It's sitting in the freezer waiting for inspiration to strike :rotfl:
