3rd degree, what do I do now? [Considering Appeal]

If universities won't support people to good marks then they should be made to pay for it by people going on and on at them until they do something about it. It is as simple as that really and the OP feels they have not had the support and help they should have done then making them do something about it is justified.:beer:0

SP - Uni students are supposed to be grown ups. Yes, there should be support for those that need it, but the Uni is not responsible for the marks - the individual has to take the responsibility. Throwing your toys out the pram shouldn't be the way to get through it.
And a degree is not the be all and end all - it's a springboard to other things. I agree that the OP has much to look forward to.:A MSE's turbo-charged CurlyWurlyGirly:A

You see in reading the first page it is self evident that a third is considered that the holder was a drunk and never went to classes when there are a million and one reasons why they got a third. So if the student had real things that the uni did not addressed then having a go at them is right to make sure something gets done about it.:beer:0 -

this is the point phil - after the exam board, when the external examiner has agreed the marks, getting things changed is a major thing. i find it difficult to believe that a uni would let this happen (and that's an entirely different debate to whether or not they should in this particular situation) as it opens them up to every student complaining. all exams and cousemark are marked by one person and then moderated by another. all issues surrounding extenuating circumstances need to be brought up before the results are given out. what the board will do is look at your work if you're on a boundary and decide if the circumstances mean that you should be given the upper mark - special circs does not mean you get a certain entitlement to an increased percentage.:happyhear0 -
and phil - can i ask that this thread is left to be about the OPs situation rather than you posting 50 comments a day so it ends up being about you and your feelings about uni support for your circumstances?:happyhear0

If the uni has not done what it should have and taken into account this student's issues then they should be punished if you like and told about it until they correct their error. I feel very stongly that they should be chased until they correct the error.:beer:0
