As for if you can get a picture, have you not heard of a VGA? Not all Laptops use HDMI.
I suggest you actually try getting a picture on a TV via SkyGo before you reply again.

The quality of Sky Go, even with 50mb broadband is terrible, regardless of the connection from internet device to TV, and even through some smart TV's themselves; having had the service myself for 6 months, I can say with absolute certainty that regardless of the machine used, the connection used or the viewing platform, it is really bad.

OP, tell VM that you want to go with Sky, and VM usually buckle under the pressure and offer you a package that you want.

If you can tolerate slightly worse picture quality, you can get all shows for free off the internet, some aren't 100% legal but you can do it.

Yes, this is thoroughly intentional on Sky's part. Otherwise, SkyGo would just become what Datalex already thinks it is, a cheap Sky subscription. SkyGo is designed for use on mobile devices as a supplement to Sky TV-not a replacement.

I never said Sky Go was a direct replacement for SKY TV (read my posts!!) I said it was offered by Sky to people who do not have the ability to have a sky box. IF YOU LOOK AT THE SKY WEBSITE you will see on there they offer it without TV. It does afford anyone who takes it channels which are not available on Freeview. Also according to the website you can get various options. I was actually told by a sky representative that they offer sky go to people who cannot get sky tv for various reasons. I guess in effect it is a "cheap subscription" as like any cheaper package you do get a small range for your money than full the premium package.

As stated previously quality is a matter of opinion. If your viewing pleasure is purely dependant on the clarity of the screen rather than the content of the film or program I feel truly sorry for you.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

I feel sorry for you trying to watch SkyGo on a television set:D

What about the channels you can't receive via SkyGo? What about On Demand? What about High Definition?

As I said already, a severely truncated version of Sky TV designed for mobile devices. A supplement to Sky TV, not a replacement.
