I like Christmas cards, I think there are a nice way of letting people know you are thinking off them even if you rarely see them!

What I hate is people donating to charity on my behalf, if you are going to send me a card or a present, send me one, if you aren't don't - it doesn't really bother me, but don't pretend you have sent be me a present by donating so much to charity on my behalf.

If you want to donate to charity do so, but don't pretend its for me, or at the very least if you are donating to charity on my behalf at least ask me which charity I would like to support.

    Happy new year everyone

I can honestly say there are too many cards up in this house and i have read none of them and never do.
I drove past Cheshire oaks yesterday and just shook my head at the long lines of traffic to get in,
All buying stuff they do not need..Its a disease.

I got stuck in that bloody traffic for ages. I live in Ellesmere Portband just wanted to come home. Grr
    Smart price rocks!

I donate to charities instead of sending a lot of cards. I'm not doing it on behalf of the other person, though. I'm donating the money I would have spent, otherwise. I'm just telling you the reason you're not getting a card :rotfl:. Plus, let's be honest here - you can buy a pack of five cards for about £1, I'm hardly going to donate 20p each to five different charities . I wish more people would do the same instead of, literally, chucking their money in the bin.

Gifts, I agree, are different but if I was doing that I'd choose a charity personal to the recipient.

I've no idea where that is BUT how do you know they're ALL buying stuff they don't need? Maybe some of them are just trying to get things they DO need a bit cheaper.

One of the bonuses of having a serious short term memory problem, I don't [STRIKE]care[/STRIKE] remember who has sent and tbh who I've sent them to. I do the immediate neighbours and post to four friends who live in different towns. Other than that, I don't bother. (And tbf those who do come in end up in the bin/recycling pretty quickly I'm sad to say).
