job vacancy with no wage indicated?

it's a pain when vacanies don't say what hourly rate they are offering...anyone been to an interview where they were asked what wage they were looking for? or do they normally just tell you at the interview?

I have just applied for one and don't know what to ask for it I get an interview.

Years agos, and I mean years agos. I posted my CV to a tempt agencies. They guy asked me to turn up for an interview. I have said yes.

the following day , I received a very rude email from one of the "consultant" threatening to call the Job centre as I did not turn up. What he failed to do, was to give me the address, the time, the job that I was applying for. I even tried to contact him but no success.

They apologised but I have never got back to them afterwards. they state it was his first day at the job. That left me with a bitter taste.

I noticed it a lot lately, and it's really annoying as there is a figure I don't want to go below so that we can afford the unflamboyant average lifestyle we have :o

It is odd. My previous job bad the same amount but still put it down as 'competitive'. So it wasn't done to screw the employee over by seeing how low they would go. I assume it was done to prevent competitors finding out so easily.

What I find annoying is that the salary is a gauge to the level of the job. I have seen jobs which were for a assistant and for a manager at the same company, the job descriptions were near identical, copy and pasted.

I do think by the end of the interview + research before hand you should have an idea how much you want.

What was your last wage, and what do you think you are worth?

That's not how it works. It is how much the role is worth, not how much you are.

    A doctor becoming a cleaner can't demand £100k.

I guess they will tell me, as they will have loads of people to choose from I would think.

Just my last interview stated "not min wage" I turn up and it is min wage

anyway thinking about it, we are only talking a matter of tens of pence, it's not like it's pounds, tbh with you I would settle for min wage atm.

I was offered a job where they were looking for trustworthy people due to the nature of the confidential information involved, premium would be paid. That premium was 6p above NMW.
