C25K is great and you'll be surprised how quickly your fitness level improves. I would suggest that any new runner doing C25K look up parkrun.org.uk. They organise weekly timed runs on Saturday mornings at parks all over the country. You don't have to run. You can walk it if you want. Its a bit of fun and will give you a bit of extra motivation. And it's free.0

Checked C25K and parkrun.org.uk out. Think I'll give both of them a try. Will do the C25K for a few weeks first. Then I'll give the parkrun.org.uk a try.
Happy new year & good luck

I can't run for 30 secs but fancy giving it a go
Well I restarted it on Monday and managed it ok-ish. Think I'm going to do every week twice though so might take 18 weeks instead of 9. Will see how I go.
There are some pre-c25k plans and you could start off walking for 30 mins then adding in 15 secs and 30 secs of running before c25k.
Definitely worth a go!0 -
Can I join in? Going to be starting 30day shred tomorrow. Sort of excited and sort of dreading it :-)January grocery challenge 0/4000

Count me in too - got the 30 day shred DVD coming in a few days. I managed to lose 8lbs over the past 10 days because I just wasn't hungry, so I might as well capitalise on it. Not going to follow a particular diet - just focus on natural foods instead of processed stuff, and get myself moving."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

Did 30 day shred today for the first time and thought I would die. Still aching now and I've got the alarm set for 6am to do it again. Couldn't even keep up with all of it :-(January grocery challenge 0/4000

Can I join in?! I've been a regular gym goer for ages (I've even 'won' a gym t-shirt so I can be a walking advert!), but have been eating to reward myself so I've been putting on weight anyway!
Started back at the gym today with a spin class after 2 weeks off for xmas, and started the Harcombe Diet 30 day blitz on Thursday. Am being v v good! :Arememberwhen wrote: »Did 30 day shred today for the first time and thought I would die. Still aching now and I've got the alarm set for 6am to do it again. I have the 30 day shred DVD, it's really good! Keep going with it and after a few days you'll be able to keep up don't worry! Then try level 2 and it feels like you're back to square 1 again!!Debt Free and Very Very Proud! - DMP mutual support member 315

hi again
first class of the new year for me too today, spinning after 2 weeks off.
wasn't as bad as I thought but we'll see tomorrow.
planning a treadmill run for tomorrow so hopefully I'll be able to do it haha
well done everyone....keep going0 -
Well, I've just downloaded 30 Day Shred after you lot were raving about it - hopefully start it tomorrow or Monday. Skimmed through it and the bits I saw seemed like it could be ok - doesn't look as technically difficult as some work out DVDs can be. Well, that was only Level 1!
Got tonnes of Amazon gift credit so thinking about treating myself to a set of small weights and strength rope things. Would get more stuff but don't really know what would be beneficial. Suggestions welcome!
It's really depressing that I've avoided going on any summer holidays the last few years because of my weight (always just said that I'd rather save my money or too busy with work) but I'd absolutely love to treat my Mum to a holiday this year but will only do it if I can get rid of a tonne of weight first.
Hope everyone's having a good weekend! x0
