  • The slumps can be from 1-4 days. Sometimes you just come right, other times you force yourself to some kind of activity to create a sense of achievement. The trick is to tackle small things rather than a real challenge as a fail may make things worse. For me though the most important thing is to remain aware that any slump is temporary and will pass. You ok?

Well done everyone on all the great progress, and congrats on the baby news NYD!

I haven't been on for a couple of months, but been plodding along in the background making bits of progress here and there, as well as going backwards in certain areas :/

    July update:

    Financial

    • Pay £1500 credit card off by end Feb, and KEEP IT AT ZERO (you'd think I'd learn, but apparently not!) - DONE, all paid, totally cleared, yea baby! Well, it was clear, then it went up again, but thankfully now it's clear again!
    • Finish paying car loan by July, and resist urge to upgrade again - On track, another payment paid, only 5 to go. DONE, no more car loan! But I have to confess, we did go and have a look at upgrading, thankfully resisted!
    • Continue in earnest with mortgage overpayments, particularly from July once credit card and car loan cleared - Over paid £100 in Feb. Overpaid £270 ish so far this year, not exactly earth shattering progress, but better than nothing.
    • Build small emergency pot - £110 put aside, hardly gonna bail us out of any kind of catastrophe, but it's a start! £500 now put aside.

    Personal

    • Keep reminding self of difference between planning and worrying, and stick with former (I'm the type that pointlessly runs things through in my mind, over, and over, and over...) - Ongoing
    • Continue with running club recently joined and complete x2 10k's - Been to running club every week, plus running with a friend on another night, and entered first 10k which is this Sunday *smug*. Slacked off at running club a bit, find it so unfriendly, and running partner now pregnant, need to think of alternatives!
    • Begin learning French - enrolled at college and attending classes, finding v challenging though. Finished college course, didn't enjoy it one bit. No idea what to do next here!
    • Continue with sewing, treat self to x1 workshop - Had a little dabble, got some fabric on order for a new project, and booked into a sewing show at the NEC in a couple of weeks :). Not done much sewing lately, been so busy it's zapped all my creativity :/
    • Continue emphasis on work life balance with a break of some sort every 3 months - Got a week booked off next week, yessss! Doing well, just been on holiday.
    • Learn to be content, to count my blessings and be thankful for what I've got, rather than focusing on the negatives - Ongoing

    Relationship

    • Get out and make more memories together - Doing really well, have been to cinema and out for dinner and lunches a couple of times, went to a film festival and off on hol together next week :). Still doing well, been doing loads more stuff together :)
