Updates!
1. Save 7k (with a minimum of 1.6k if I do not succeed).- Saved around 900-1000 which will depend on the next 9 days just in case I overspend. But the vast majority of all savings are in interest yielding accounts.
2. Use my CC to improve my credit rating as I'm hoping for a mortgage one day. I haven't bought anything on it..
3. With no. 2 in mind- stay out of debt.Totally not in debt!
4. Start and complete AAT level 2.Started, almost ready for exam one
5. Start and complete AAT level 3.Not started yet
6. Start investing- I want a relatively passive income and aim to get £500 per month by 30. I'm 23.. and three quarters :rotfl: Investigating...
8. Learn to count.I have five whole fingers on one hand!
9. Improve my skills/get a better jobHave worked on my CV, linkedin and cover letter. Have also applied to several jobs that look like they would progress into the careers I want.
It is deliberate : P
Massive congrats to everyone. Great progress!0 -
Evening all,
Not much change for me this week but still progessing with current tasks.
1, Make an overpayment of £1.5k on the mortgage. NOTHING. Think this may be harder to achieve as re-evaluating debt and think it will take a little longer than expected to pay off but hope to make some payments by the end of the year.
2, Decorate & tile my bathroom, bedroom and DS's Bedroom......(and potty train and get him into a big boys bed!) - Have started stripping the paint in Son's bedroom (still Going - starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel......).
3, replace guttering - Probably looking at Autumn time as this needs to be done before making mortgage overpayments - Someone giving me a quite hopefully on mate rates and then working out how to get that money together
4, Declutter (ongoing with 2 kids!) Sharing cost of a skip with my neighbours in spring - Still chucking out the odd thing I find.
On a personal level;
5, Get a better camera (saving up swagbucks, surveys etc for this) and get more involved with photography - Still doing survey's, swags etc
6, Finally have a family holiday even if it's just 4 days on a Sun Deal. Paid Deposit! Still to pay balance, need to cram in some overtime at work!
7, continue walking through and visiting the local country side. Too cold & wet - So desperately need some tranquillity from nature - for sanity and those extra lbs starting to appear! WET!!
8, Volunteer, even if it's not regular...... Done one evening at Rainbows. Nothing new
Have a good week :jOh I do want to live in Countryside.......with the kids, pets and LOTS of books.........

Only just joined the forums, but I set myself some 'goals' for the New Year too. Mine were;
1) Pay off car loan (DONE)
2) Pay off credit cards (Approx £4,200 to go- paid £419.50 since 1st January)
3) Add more to my 'Fun' savings account ( This is the account I add a bit to each month and use for things like concerts, theatres, weekends away, holidays etc and it took a battering last year. Currently still have approx. £500.00 in there but I'd like it to be a bit higher)
4) Add to my Mortgage savings (I'd like to save another £5,000 this year. So far I have saved £450.00)
5) Do OnePoll surveys every day to add to Mortgage savings.(Almost at my next £40!)
6) Take on a second job to add to Mortgage savings (DONE)
7) De-clutter and organise at home (Already done CDs/DVD/Books, toiletries, make up and half of clothes. Still need to do rest of clothes, general stuff, sort out photos, sort out recipe scrap book etc)
8) Continue with eating healthy and exercising (not really a goal as I always do it but it can be hard work to fit it all in so still set it as my goal)
9) Up my running from 5k to 10k
10) Cut down expense where I can - trying to be more frugal when food shopping, washing the car myself rather than taking it to the car wash etc)
So far so good0 -

Hello again everyone :hello: Just swinging by for my February update and am very happy to see that we're all getting busy ticking our aims off our lists!! Some of mine remain on the back burner but I'm beginning to see light at the end of the debt tunnel!!
In 2014 I'd like to...
1. Become debt free (preferably a couple of months earlier than my current DFD of August) I have just over £2k remaining and I'm now over 3/4 of the way to being debt free! Loan finishes in 20 days and my CC debt is all on 0% :j
2. Save £2k toward house deposit Once again this will be a post-debt aim.
3. Get to the gym 3 times a week and get healthy - hopefully this will put me back under 10st. Still failing miserably but I've had a confirmed entry onto the great north run and the nights are getting lighter so I'm fast running out of excuses!
4. Drink at least a litre of water a day - I know it should be more but at the moment I barely drink a single sip so a litre will be a good increase! Doing ok at this one!!
5. Book a holiday after avoiding anything longer than a weekend away during 2013 Post-debt project.
6. Teach myself to play a song on a guitar - need to find a guitar first! Will aim to do this by my birthday in September.
As an addition I would also like to teach myself to juggle. Not sure why but I've been watching a couple of how to videos and practising so watch this space!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Gobsmacked we're in March already, where's the year going?!
End of Feb updates:
Financial- Pay £1500 credit card off by end Feb, and KEEP IT AT ZERO (you'd think I'd learn, but apparently not!) - DONE, all paid, totally cleared, yea baby!
- Finish paying car loan by July, and resist urge to upgrade again - On track, another payment paid, only 5 to go
- Continue in earnest with mortgage overpayments, particularly from July once credit card and car loan cleared - Over paid £100 in Feb
- Build small emergency pot - £110 put aside, hardly gonna bail us out of any kind of catastrophe, but it's a start!
Personal- Keep reminding self of difference between planning and worrying, and stick with former (I'm the type that pointlessly runs things through in my mind, over, and over, and over...) - Ongoing
- Continue with running club recently joined and complete x2 10k's - Been to running club every week, plus running with a friend on another night, and entered first 10k which is this Sunday *smug*
- Begin learning French - enrolled at college and attending classes, finding v challenging though
- Continue with sewing, treat self to x1 workshop - Had a little dabble, got some fabric on order for a new project, and booked into a sewing show at the NEC in a couple of weeks
- Continue emphasis on work life balance with a break of some sort every 3 months - Got a week booked off next week, yessss!
- Learn to be content, to count my blessings and be thankful for what I've got, rather than focusing on the negatives - Ongoing
Relationship- Get out and make more memories together - Doing really well, have been to cinema and out for dinner and lunches a couple of times, went to a film festival and off on hol together next week
