Updates from me, 1 month on:
1. Pay off my £3500 debt - now at £2870
2. Get under 10 stone. - 12st 4
3. Start saving - not yet
4. Start a family - not yet
Savings can be broken down further - £1k emergency fund, £1k ISA savings, £4k baby fund.
Then, if my some miracle I complete these targets, save for a bigger house! I've seen plans i like for a newbuild - we need to save £1k to secure it:rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:

Goals for 2014 - update for week 6
Pay off credit card - recent addition to my purse, but on 0% for 18 months. - DD of £25 due to be paid. And extra £25 paid
Contribute to my weekly savings account as per challenge - week 6 - so £6 paid, £7 to be paid tomorrow
Negotiate part time hours at work - had the meeting and have since been informed that they have agreed my part time hours:D
Take little man for a walk in buggy at least 3 times per week - have been out for an hour walk and started a sit up programme.
Be better organised with meal planning to stop wasting food. - am better organised with meal planning, completing it on a Sunday afternoon for the week.
Be better organised with housework - allocate one room per day on a rolling system - have fallen behind on this.
Declutter wardrobes and drawers in bedroom - have sorted through underwear drawer, wardrobe planned for this week. .
Lose weight - at least 1 stone (currently 10st 10lbs) - still 10st 5lbs, weighing myself tomorrow although haven't had a good day today.
Eat at least 3/5 fruit and veg per day - not quite 3 a day but probably 2.
Reduce my misc spends - so far this week - £0 / £15 :j
Read 4 books - 0/4 - started book 1 - wuthering heights
No buying toiletries - nothing purchased
Organise photos and albums - no change
Be a nicer person - will try and say something nice to someone I know every day.
Not going brilliantly but am tying this in with the 'get it done weekly' challenge. Some of these things are going to take time to change.

1. Get sugar control (I'm diabetic)
Blood sugars that should be around 45 were at 73 4 months ago. 62 last week. Still a way to go but so encouraging :j
2. Work out what I need in a savings pot and go for it
No real activity bar saving change in a pot. am aiming for £6.3k plus £200 cash. currently at £4.1k
3. Make mortgage overpayments equivalent to 3x monthly payment
Additional £9.38 paid this week. on track for quarterly target.
4. Lose weight. Weighed in at 14.5 stone on 01 jan. Am aiming for 14 stone by 01 march

got rid of 5 old files of notes from 1997/98. how ridiculous they were still there.
6. Take garden in hand
cold, wet, yeuck!
7. Start 'flylady' daily returns
have maintained bed making. am also working towards the shiny sink. result, 15 mins got my house presentable for visitor
8. Get rid of ugly clothes bought because they fit and not cos they were nice.

barrage of stuff hit upon my return. gathered it all up, put in a cupboard and am working through one step at a time.

My goal is to cut down my expenditure from the miniscule amount to which I have already cut it so that I do not have to go back to the teaching that nearly destroyed my health. I have found in two years' retirement that being poor but happy is infinitely better than having money to burn but being stressed.0

Thought it was about time I did an update!:
1. Pay off both credit cards (£7k and £1600) £500 paid off
2. Save £10k (secret emergency stash) £600 saved
3. Save £100 a month for Christmas 2014 - On track - £200 saved
4. Save £50 a month for holiday - On track - £100 saved
5. Read a book a week (got loads of free books on my iPad) - not going so well, finding time to read is a problem! Must try harder
6. Listen to a new album every week (free spotify) - Ongoing - Currently listening to Lemon Jelly - Lost Horizons
7. Watch a new film every week (I get free cinema tickets very week from my work health insurance plus we have Netflix - Now cancelled my medical insurance as its costing a fortune in tax! Still have Netflix though - Currently watching season 8 of Dexter which although isn't technically a film, we've promised ourselves we'll see it through! I did watch Funny Girl last weekend which I'd never seen before.
8. Lose 7 stone - Erm - pass
9. Do some exercise every day (very cheap gym membership plus we have fitness games on the xbox) - No comment
10. Overpay £3500 off the mortgage this year - On track - Overpaid £600 so far this year
11. Save points from Nectar, nectar adpoints, swagbucks, club card, surveys etc for Christmas 2014 - Yep - doing this!0 -

hey folks, you do realise we are now more than 10% of the way through 2014. here goes from a mixed week for me
1. Get sugar control (I'm diabetic)
as before, this will next update in may but have drastically reduced choc consumption in work, which is my danger zone
2. Work out what I need in a savings pot and go for it
still aiming for a total of £6.3 plus £200 cash. no real progress but have squirreled away £10 towards cash target
3. Make mortgage overpayments equivalent to 3x monthly payment
£10 OP this week, that means i'm at 44.4% of quarterly target
4. Lose weight. Weighed in at 14.5 stone on 01 jan. Am aiming for 14 stone by 01 march
weighed in this morning. no change which i'm a bit p**sed at - see 1.

one black bag of rubbish filled plus 1 bag t charity shop yesterday. 3 items heading fleabay direction this evening

1. Pay Loans (£10542) - now £9136 -- paid £1406 so far
2.Pay & close 5 CCs (£7515) - now £7369-paid £146 so far this month and 4 cards to go (£22 extra paid this week).
3. Read 6 books - First book complete (Philomena)! Second book starting today - 'The Human Mind' by Robert Winston
4. Complete photo albums x4 - photographs going into album 1 this afternoon
5.Exercise at least twice a week for 45 mins - no classes done this weekMust try harder. Aim for 2 classes this week.
6 Get to goal weight (10st 3lbs) - total loss in 2014 = 3lbs!1lbs lost this week :T
7. Redecorate my bedroom - no plans until March although going wallpaper browsing in a little while
8. Say 'no' when I need to - nothing to report this week
9. Pray more - Getting better
