Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 upgrade problems

Be thankful you didn't get the previous Android 4.3 version MJ9!!

Samsung released it at the beginning of November to unbranded S3 UK users. It appears we were the guinea pigs.
I immediately suffered problems - including full battery drain in less than 12 hours; phone refusing to wake up etc. There were reports of multiple problems from thousands of users across various forums and the Samsung UK Facebook page made interesting reading as users posted their issues.
Samsung UK responded with "We're looking in to it" platitudes and promptly pulled the update with no option to downgrade to 4.1.2. They even postponed the planned roll-out across North America.

It took more than a month for them to release the fix (MK6) while in the meantime those of us who had updated were left with a device which was pretty much useless.
The update appears to have solved most of the issues I had with the exception of some notifications appearing at random times.
I haven't had the rotation freeze problem although you can switch off auto rotation in the settings.

Needless to say I won't be buying Samsung again. :(

I use my S3 as a mini tablet so the landscape orientation is pretty much essential for using the internet for those sites that don't have apps. I'll just have to go back to using a laptop for this until Samsung come up with a fix.

I have a Galaxy S3 Mini and its driving me crazy at the moment.
I haven't done the last update at the end of Nov my phone has been intermittently taken to this last week turning itself off whether it has a full battery or not then it will not turn back on! My phone is just over a year old.

When it happens (like it has just done during writing this and had to start again! grr.) have to do a battery pull for a few minutes to get it to work again. Phone is constantly on charge as this is the only thing that seems to stop this issue from happening. Its got to the point that i`m scared to use it when not on charge! Thank fully I haven't needed to leave the house much over Christmas as I wouldn`t know what I would have done it had crashed while I was out.
Iv ordered a new battery in case that's the problem?
My last update shows as Baseband, 18190XXAMJ2, Build No, JZ054K.18190XXAMJ2

Should I run the recent update to fix my problem? I do not use screen rotation so that will not bother me.
Any further advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Yes and i dont think my question was answered above .
You downloaded the update and installed and now have problems .
As far as i am aware and ref your first post OTA will not download the same update again .

nickcc is failing to understand the problem you have .

Don't believe that I'm failing to understand the problem just that neither my S3 or my Wife's S3 have had the same problem. My Wife's new S3 came with the new OP system and my 3 month old S3 downloaded the new software without any problems.

    OP
Updated via standard OT( point A )
    has problems
Samsung said take to a service centre or wait for the next update .
Forum gave a number of fixes / alternative ways to overwrite that poor update .
You come along and tell the OP to go back to point A .
Pointless when its been done and is faulty hence the first post .

So why, in your post No 17, did you ask me to explain to the OP how to get the update, I really believe that you are trying to turn this into a personal argument so looks like you will be another on my ignore list.
