It's payday! So finally off the mark, woohoo!

If I could offer a little tip to people with multiple debts it would be to clear your overdraft as a priority. The interest charged on it is generally quite high but the main reason is psychological. It's such a boost to see your full wage in your bank account on payday and I'm positive it will be easier to budget for the month.

When you have -£2500 in your account (like I did) it can be difficult to know how to budget for the essentials!

    Thanks everyone!

Well done-I couldn't agree more, we'll hopefully be out of the overdraft this month and planning a buffer for once (first time for everything!). It'll be so good to know that we can really focus on the CC's, now the O/D is out of the way.

Just a small payment for me #139 today-£72 out of £9080, so I'm now on
    0.8%....
I think I'll wait until I've at least hit 1% to update the signature!!!
    £2000/£9000=22.2%:)
  • 108 here.

Made another payment today - now at £1797.47/£10,000 so far.

I am hanging in there. I'm quite liking making payments every day to the credit card - I think it's making me pay more than I would otherwise. Will probably have some expenditure today, but on the flip side, I'll be making some returns too which should more than cover it.
  • Blinking Cap1 STILL haven't closed my account! I overpaid when closing it, leaving it with a credit balance of £40, so rang them, three times, to ask them to close it and send me the money back. Each time they said it would take 2 hours as a faster payment, and didn't do it.
Eventually they said it had been scheduled and would take three days.
Then, because they'd taken so long, some interest was added, taking the credit balance to £15.
Rang them another two times to chase.
Today I get a credit to the bank of £40, leaving me with a debit balance of £27 on the account, which no doubt means they will be unable to close it. Have sent a proper ranty message to them, accusing them of "blithering incompetence" and asking them to recredit the £27 and close the account immediately.

    Gaaaaaah!

    Vanquis?

Or some other company, I only say because my OH spent 3 months trying to get them to close her account.

bellabear welcome back to this year. Hope you're enjoying your new country :) You're number 139.

    LAM2011 - total updated

kei - I've updated your total too, don't worry about it too much, these things happen!

sharonej that's really annoying, hope you can get something sorted!

32b3 you don't drive a clio by any chance? :rotfl:

How exciting we've been moved! Although it might have been nice for whoever moved us to have told me or let us know somehow...

Priced up the sun-roof repairs, and it's a lot more than I expected (I thought maybe £40, it's more like £160 ) I might just sit on carrier bags for a while....

It was a pug 106. A great car, I paid £200 for it and i literally didn't ever take it to the garage other than for the MOT, which it never failed. I kept it for 6 years. I was going to give it to my niece when she passed her test, but the leak got too bad :(

Lol, I sense a problem with Clio sunroofs. Wasn't it the Clio which had a problem with the bonnet catch which caused them to spring up when the car went over a certain speed. I could be wrong. I vaguely remember the problem being highlighted in letter to someone I used to work to.

I now have a fiesta, which I got after the pug with the indoor swimming pool. It hasn't got a sunroof, it hasn't got much character either. In fact, it could be the most boring car in the world (sorry to fiesta lovers) and it is silver, which is just metallic grey!! See, boring lol

One more week to payday :D
