#53 Well I am pleased to announce I am now debt free. I have put off posting this news since the beginning of November because with christmas looming i just wanted to make sure everything was covered before I declared my self debt free. I could not have done it without the support of MSE, even though I.m not a regular poster i am a dedicated follower of this thread. It feels very surreal atm. Although I have never been in debt of more than £3000 at a time I have been borrowing on cc since the age of 20 so for 25 years eeek. I have been lucky enough to have a good credit rating so have been shifting constantly to 0%. This however has been my downfall because I've rarely paid much in interest its never been an urgency to clear it but this has cost me loads in transfer fees. It feels great to see my cc with £0.00 balance now. sorry for the long post and once again thank you for your support.

Right gang - WE MADE IT!!!! :xmassign:

So here are the facts for the year (and I'm going to see how many emoticons I can get in here):

We welcomed 218 members this year :santa2: (I suppose it's time to say goodbye to you from the 2014 thread too!)

Altogether we had a total debt of over £1.5m :eek:

In December (so far at least) we have managed to pay off £35,397.75  (The totals for each month are down at around post 6 on the front page if you want to see the breakdown!)

This takes our total for the year to:

    :j:j£546,391.96:j:j

That is over half a million quid right there

We also have 21 members who reached their target or became debt free this year :j

Please feel free to add any final payments after this post - I'll re-summarise next week if I get any new payments posted.

MASSIVE congratulations to every single one of you - give yourselves a big pat on the back and do a happy dance  :rotfl: enjoy what's left of 2014, and good luck for the future to everyone who is carrying forward to next year :)

Wow wow wow well done everyone!!

    Thanks minicooper!

This whole thread has been amazing. It gives you hope when you truly think there is none.
For me, I seemed to do so well until reality struck and I realised I hadn't budgeted at all.for Xmas. With 5 children that's a disaster.
Back to the drawing board, let's hammer the debts off in 2015.
huge thank you to everyone who ran this thread..
