Just been catching up as work has been so busy this week.

Minicooper - thank you soooo much for all your hard work - it has been very much appreciated. :A

Pablosammy - thank you for taking over and setting up the 2015 thread. :T

I'm looking forward to another year of trying to get out of debt and this thread has really helped me - I love reading everyone's posts. Good luck all. XX:)

Last payment before Christmas so my debt stands for this year at:

    #011: £3797 / £6000

    Not a bad effort!

What was your debt at the start of the year, and what is it now?

    If you know those, it's...

((Debt at start - debt now)/Debt at start) x 100

    Simple... :snow_grin

    Thanks!

    Around 56% :j
    • [STRIKE]Credit Card: £2,989 / £2,989[/STRIKE]
    • Bank Loan: £12,000 / £14,000
  • I'm gonna declare for 2014 as well, as I won't make any more payments till January 1st now.

    So the final figures are:

    #163 £5149/£9141 (56% paid)

Pretty happy with that as I was hoping to clear at least half of it. I acquired a new debt this year due to a tax credits overpayment, so next years target is £4683. Once I've cleared that I'm completely debt-free (no loans, credit cards, overdraft or mortgage) apart from my student loan! But I've decided that doesn't count as a debt as they take it straight out of your wages like a tax and only if you're earning more than 16K.

Thanks Minicooper for your excellent running of the thread this year and thanks to everyone else for posting your updates and keeping me motivated :T See you on the 2015 thread :)
    Starting 2016 debt-free :D

  • Hi all

    #25 here

Hope you are all well! I am not debt free, I can confirm I have paid the following:

£7, 247.49 and my new balance leaves me with £7,247.49 = 49.8% paid off!!!

Definately want to join next years thread to pay off the remaining 50%

Never in all my dreams would I believe that I could actually pay this amount off! Not to put myself down, but there were many months I slacked and went on holiday/night out/ hairdressers etc.. it guts me now as I could be debt free now but have to think positively and think I am 50% less in debt than this time last year!

Well done! That's a great achievement, keep it up and it'll be a huge celebration next year :T

I've put you down as #25 in the new thread, with a target of £7,247.49 if that's ok?

  • Thankyou!! Sometimes you do have to think about what you have achieved so far rather than what you should of done. The only thing i would add is keeping on top of your real target so you dont stray too far off target
