#208 here reporting another small amount.
Total now stands at 1145.13/6965.20 (16.4%)
Made a yummy bolognaise today in the slow cooker. It made 4 family meals and a small portion for the kids. Worked out at less than 90p a meal. We just had it tonight with some spaghetti. (20p?). What a cheap meal! I have frozen the other three for when I am back at work as it is easy to just heat them up instead of cooking from scratch!Grocery challenge-

i love slow cookers! i did a big vegetable soup on sunday using leftover vegetables in the fridge. it tastes ok - for my first attempt anyway! that'll do me all week and was very cheap to make as everything was already in my cupboard.
we've been taking advantage of the £5 off £10 spend meat and the £5 free fruit/veg morrisons vouchers that have been in the sun recently.we have loads of meat in the freeze and fridge  beef stir fry for tea tonight.

Us too! Two lots of meat for the last ones and two more last week. First week we got 6 x mince (£10.50) and 1 x chicken, 1 x 8 burgers and gammon steaks (£10) so that all came to £10.50.
Last week we got fresh cod, meatballs, a chicken, diced beef, meatballs, 1x 8 burgers all for £10.
The freezer is so full that should be enough meat until next month!
We are having fish pie for dinner so hopefully that will be two meals for me and the kids as hubby doesn't eat it!
We got fruit and veg last week, 2 x vouchers, but I did notice the prices were a lot more than aldi so glad there is no minimum spend!Grocery challenge-

lol :rotfl: Hope the temporary house move to your parents goes well.Trying so hard to get better at cooking and being money saving! Currently got a pork shoulder in the slow cooker - hope I don't mess it up haha.
How did it go? I love using a slow cooker but tend to use it more in the winter.Just wanted to say we had a mega frugal day out on Tuesday. We went to Woburn Safari park. We used our tesco club card vouchers so got free entry and took a picnic. We had snacks in the bag and didn't do our usual 'shall we all have an ice cream? OH and I had a chat and said it seems to be a habit that whenever we go out for the day we have icecreams and the kids are beginning to expect it rather than seeing it as a treat! THEY didn't miss them!
So a full day out. We were there from 10-6 and the whole day cost.....
NOTHING!!!!!!! Result! It helped that it was a planned day out rather than a last minute decision to go!
Well done Frizzle!
:T CONGRATULATIONS Lam2011 and 1DayAAT!! :T Well done to everyone who is chipping away.
Spending way to much money, why oh why does it just disappear as soon as it hits the bank account!! :wall: :doh:On top of that DH is continually complaining that something is wrong with the engine mounts in our car (but won't actually book it in, just goes on and on and on about it), the Fridge freezer is slowly dying as it only freezes the top shelf (quick freeze section) anything in the other drawers takes days to freeze properly (and it's not overfull). We have tarted up our bathroom (to save replacing it early as we decided to go on holiday to see the mouse next year instead) and we still need to repair part of the floor that is rotten and fit a radiator (there isn't one in there at the moment) plus DH wants the back of the house repointing and the flashing repairing on the flat roof of our extension as it leaks, especially in winter when it's stormy. I know we shouldn't be putting ourselves through the stress of trying to save and pay for an expensive holiday, but it's the only thing keeping me going at the moment!! Still, I start university next month so I'll soon be too busy to worry about stuff lol!!
I have put a bit aside in the ISA to help pay for one of the emergencies (which ever happens first I guess lol) and I put a couple of quid in the ISA for our holiday next year. Didn't want the card to feel left out so paid £7 off. Getting close to 50%.

I had a bargain dinner last night which made up for spedning on the weekend.
A brocolli, a garlic clove, some olive oil, butter and chicken stock. Boiled and then whizzed up in the mixer.
Made 2 perfect size bowls of soup for me and the OH. Superfood !! Cost me about 80p.0 -
Sorry guys, haven't been on for ages! Had a bit of a jiggle of finances, paid a bit off, spent a bit, had a holiday .... but I'm back on track now.#171
