Oh wow - some big news!

    Congrats LAM2011! :T:T:T

    Congrats 1DayAAT! :T:T:T

Really fab to see both of you debt free :j

Hi zoo25 run our challenges from Christmas to Christmas, so happy to have you join this year and roll over anything remaining to next year. Do you still want to join? Can you let me know how much you want to pay off by Christmas this year?

I'll get out the debt free roll of honours tomorrow - not on the laptop just now.

Yeah buying old bangers you do have to be very very lucky. To be fair as soon as I bought my car I did pay over £600 more to sort out the brake pads, discs and hubs. There was only 1 corner at fault but thought what the hell and got all of them done. Just wish I didn't have to pay so much tax haha

I run a H plate car that so far has cost me:

    £200 to buy unseen
£155 to get it to me
£35 in MOT Preparations for last years MOT
£170 for the MOT (Missed a sticking brake caliper in the prep :rotfl:)
£220 for 4 new tyres, old ones were legal but not great

Maintenance for the year including oil changes, new spark plugs etc, comes in at a whopping £110

And then forgot it needed a MOT week before last.. booked it in and it went straight through £50

So excluding tax(£126 per 6 months) and insurance (£180 Per annum), and petrol - it owes me a whopping £890 including maintanence!

Including purchase price, that works out at £63.57 per month
Taking out purchase price and costs to get it on the road (first MOT with me was last year, and the 4 new tyres as I didnt trust the old ones with my child despite being legal) and its costs just £9.16 per month on average.

Would love to find a main stealer to sell me a car for that price :rotfl:
    £4142.49/ £131,795.91 - 3.14% paid off or only £129,608.80 to go!
    Debt free by Xmas 2015: #182 £1955.38/£4435.51 (44.08%)
MFW: Opening Balance: £108,297.91 Original MF Date: June 2042
Current Balance: £106600.27 Estimated MF Date: Dec 2033
Proud to be dealing with my debts

    morning all.
I haven't been around for a while as since I lost my second job I've been struggling to get by.all my debts are being paid but I have been living off my credit card so probably my overall debt has gone up.i suppose I have just been ignoring this and letting things get out of control a bit.
do you think I would be better to recalculate my debt and start again.how will this affect the amount I already paid off?
so trying to look on the brighter side.i had a guest staying in my spare room last week and she loved it so much she wants to come back and stay longer term.i have another guest coming for three nights next week but she is ok to work around that.
I have just managed to get my agency file up to date so hopefully will start getting some work from them.that will become my second job then.
I nearly bought some new shoes off ebay today but the price went up so much I managed to stop myself.instead I am going to have a sort out and try to find some stuff to list myself.
also can I just say thankyou to people who left me wishes about my dad.

    Good morning all,

I didn't post my totals in July and am currently about £600 behind target. I paid £351.66 off last month which leaves me at

    £2,698.47/£7,365.00=£4,666.53 outstanding 36.64% paid

One of my target debts is the council tax; I missed a payment in 2013/2014 which has resulted in a court order and an additional charge of £82. I have contacted the council and arranged a payment plan (for less than I have been paying recently anyway) but I am not impressed at all! It's my own fault for not paying but I think council tax is so hard to afford.

Also earlier this month I deleted my trusty old spread sheet with all payments, balances dates etc etc so I had to research through my bank accounts and bills to create a shiny new document. I'm actually much happier with my new version, it condenses about 4 different spread sheets into one - much more user friendly! However, due to the loss of the other one my figures might be slightly out, therefore I won't be adding the £82 charge as I'm not 100% certain it's truly accurate anymore!!

Great news about everyone one the debt free roll of honour, really pleased for you. It's very motivating knowing that debt-freedom can be achieved. I will be on a carry over plus more for 2015.....

A vision without a plan is just a dream.

Wanted pizza for tea but rather than spending a tenner I have used store cupboard ingredients and some chicken I had frozen in the freezer! Cheap and homemade :-) thanks to the sun I have a fivers worth of fruit and veg too alongside the stuff I bought earlier in the week.that covers the rabbits as well as us! Gonna attempt to make a potato and leek soup sometime this weekend...
