God cant believe someone would key your car!!!
Some horrid people out there in the world eh.
I had an offer to do a balance transfer so moved some debt from one card to the other to save on the interest so hopefully that will help plus it makes me feel better to have all the debt in one place.
Had such a lazy day today, really really need to tidy up but just sat watching big brother on catch up all day - whoopsie daisy.

Hi there,
Teeny payment from me - signature updated.
I saw something online the other day where a woman saves notes in an empty bottle (i.e 500ml water bottle). When it is full she then cuts the end off and puts the money to whatever she was saving for. When asked why she did this she said " have you ever tried to take a note out of a bottle?". By this, I presume it's a little bit difficult and therefore another great saving aide idea.
Have a great weekend.A vision without a plan is just a dream.0 -
I haven't been on here in a good bit too many things happening here that my debt control has gone haywire
I have had to take a loan out to help pay for a few things that needed fixed/replaced. My Laptop broke, so had to pay to get the repaired which wasn't cheap, my phone broke so that's in ATM being repaired, and the bloomin heating broke!
All that on top of my holiday had to be paid last week. I had no other choice but to get the loan.
So I'm now standing at
#148 £500/£2500
I'm hoping to pay of another chunk of my debt over the weekend. Will look properly tomorrow. But for now I'm off for a cup of tea and off to bed. Heating will be hopefully fixed tomorrow morning so I'm looking forward to a lovely bath and time to relax.Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -

Hi all, so we had to have some work done on the car and MOT, which was planned. But the independent garage we went to said the back brakes didn't need doing (the dealership said they did when it was serviced a few months ago). They've got another 6000 miles worth of use left!!
So we had spare money as I'd budgeted £300 for car costs. Unfortunately, I have over spent on....groceries (what a surprise) so some of the money was eaten by the overspend (ha ha ha, excuse the pun). However, I still have £100 spare so I have paid that off the credit card balance, along with £5's worth of quidco cash back.
#191 paying an extra £105 off. New totals £2380.67/£5426.67 43.87%
The big job DH was quoting for looks like it is going to go ahead....just waiting for final agreement on install dates etc. There also might be a bit more profit than we first thought (equip cost changes etc). DH is very positive about using most of the money to help clear the card. :j (Already said we should get a BBQ and put £100 away so that we can do something nice with DD in the summer holidays). If the job definitely happens it really will be possible to get this credit card debt shifted by Christmas!! :T:j :rudolf:

#49 logging in for the first time in months. I have been away for some time sulking mainly which I'm ashamed of.
The last time I logged in I had very little to pay off and could see the light at the end of the tunnel. THEN I had a review with the DMP folks and got revised final figures. Two of them have added a large amounts of interest which I had been led to believe had been frozen.
So this left me with a large debt again and a real dip in my mood ( a complete understatement). I still have the mood dip but know the one place where I can focus again is on this thread. So if you will have me back I would love to come back and kick the backside of this debt ONCE AND FOR ALL.
So my revised current outstanding debt is #49 £4032
I'm going to start again if that is ok so currently stand at 0/4032.
Here we go again. But can I do it by the end of 2014.

Parsniphead, that is so gutting!!
Is there anyway or appealing the interest charge or getting it reduced? I guess you've probably had this conversation with them already.
Still considering where you started from...you are so close to kicking your debt in the butt!!Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!:starmod: Emergency Fund Savings - #148 - £10/£1000 1% :starmod::xmastree:#083 SPC6 £63 - SPC7 £90 - SPC8 £63 - SPC9 £54 - SPC10 £26 - SPC12 £70 :xmastree:0 -
Parsniphead you've given me a nudge to get back on the boards - another long time no poster skulking back onto the thread...
I last posted in Feb/March when we found problems in our kitchen and just last month had a new one installed (wahey!) but obviously this now needs to be paid for (IKEA supplied & installed it so it's on a 24 month interest free basis at least! Currently 3 months in :rotfl:)
With that though we needed new appliances (all the old ones were built in and VERY old and manky, so they've gone on a CC (0% thank god) and things like buying DH a new laptop and paying for a holiday later this year, I'm in a lot more debt than before (plus I've added money that I owe to my Mum because she lent us £5K for a house deposit (paying this back at £250/month and more than half way now!). I only dug my head out of the sand and totalled everything last month and it was an eye-opener to say the least
So as it stands my current total is:
#008: £1391.77/£14413.27 9.66%
Apart from my overdraft which is currently at £2200 everything is on 0% interest so I'm trying to focus on getting rid of that AGAIN right now :cool:0
