The payments have gone through now. I was excited to check the online banking for the first time today. Normally I don't look forward to seeing the balances on there!
Now stands at #038 £4016.44 / £4016.44
:j :j :j
Thank you to everyone for your support, and particularly to Minicooper for running the thread, because it has been a great help keeping me motivated to clear the debt!
I will continue to check in to read about how everyone is getting on. Good luck to you all.DFBX2016 #024

i am in the same boat, i will not manage to pay off ALL my debt by christmas. howeve,r i would still like to pay off £6,000 as it is £6,000 closer to being debt free! :j
I'm looking forward to clearing these debts so I can focus on others next year! If I could go back to when I was 18 and advise my self of something in only three words I would say "Save. Never credit". So disappointed in myself right now, but the more the payment percentage rises the less disappointed I feel.
Also, nolongerindenial ( I hope it was your post), are you posting the ebay items before people pay for them? I always wait until they pay before posting incase they don't actually pay even after they've received it. Some people aren't very honest.
Happy weekend everyoneA vision without a plan is just a dream.0 -
amr/startnac - the holiday prices are ridiculous! I know it's a supply and demand thing, but can't understand the differences…
Spagbol - nice to see you! How much longer do you have on Mat leave?
Determineddiva - you've worked out your percentage wrong - you've paid off 25.2%! Well done
BirdSeed - totals updated!
nolongerindenial - you have to be really careful with eBay. I've had quite a few people who bid on items but just never paid for it at all  I won't send items until they've been paid for, just in case. Also there's apparently a sniping tool that bids for things at the last second so the person doesn't even need to be at the computer!
Aargomatt - well done on paying the debts off :j:j I'll get the debt free roll of honour ready!
I priced up our holiday last weekend, gave the OH a choice of 4 hotels, but he dragged his heels all week, and yesterday the prices shot up £100-150  Less convenient airport, but flights with BA, so we were happy it would be a good flight. Managed to get the prices back down by booking with a budget airline, incorporating a stop-over. At least this is from a more convenient airport! So we're flying state-side in November now0 -

I dunno, my parents had a lot of debt, and I swore I'd never get into debt myself at 18. It just never happened though - went to uni, and the debts just grew from there. Sometimes you need to take it on the chin as a life lesson. I won't pretend I didn't get a huge pang of guilt every time I increased my overdraft!
I won't even pretend I'll never take on debt again, but I'll only take it on if it will take less than 2 months to pay off (mortgage not included) or if it is a necessary debt (i.e. car dies, although I am putting money aside in case that happens)0 -

In my bank nothing leaves nlid towers.. It's just frustrating as I've ease led this money to clear debts the things are packaged up awaiting the call to the courier and there not paying.. Just frustrating me as I am throwing everything into getting debt free and ppl not paying annoys me especially when they bid multiple times in the last few minutes so were online to pay..

I know all about those I use one to buy some of my stock in, they place your highest bid with 1 second to go.
These guys each placed multiple bids with minutes to go so would have been on the computer and in one case it's now 5 days unpaid and in the other 36 hours unpaid£4142.49/ £131,795.91 - 3.14% paid off or only £129,608.80 to go!
