Has anyone added the March totals up yet????
:eek::eek::eek: Thanks for reminding me! I completely forgot! Sorry all, my head has been in my bum this week! Clock change/work stress/job hunting stress!
So in March (and the first 44 hours of April), we paid:
£70,475.32
We took on 19 new members, and now have a target of £1,453,227.61 between us all. Amazingly we said happy debt free day to two of our team. Massive congratulations to trying hard and Bailey25 :j:j
And well done to everyone on all your hard work! :T:T:T0 -

On the bright side, I'm still using my spending diary & am monitoring my spends using a spreadsheet. It's quite an eye-opener that, isn't it? Rather than just logging what I've spent for the last couple of months, I can now see exactly what I spend for each category... I can clearly see that I am consistently spending more that I earn each month
How can I make extra payments when I'm not meeting my current commitments. Scarey. But if I am going to get myself out of this hole once & for all, then I need to sort my life out!
It's easy for me to say this, but don't forget 2.2% is still 2.2% of progress! It sounds to me like you're making the right start though, a spend diary will help you identify where you can make savings.
Once you have a good amount of information, sit down and work out a decent budget. Identify the things you can cut out (i.e. subscriptions), look at your biggest expenses and find ways to reduce them (e.g. changing energy suppliers). After that, I'd suggest you look into envelope budgeting for the day to day stuff - this is where you set budgets for things like food, clothes, going out, and keep the money in either real or virtual envelopes. I have separate purses for certain things. I have one purse for food, and try to trim a few quid off my budget each month (it's easier to reduce food budget at the beginning, but eventually you will reach a comfortable amount for you).Thrifty_Fashionista wrote: »As always two more loan payments out on the 1st £428, but an unexpected extra £400 was given to me by someone who I loaned it to...and to be honest - didn't expect back. I have paid it straight off credit card as if I never had it.
£828 in total paid this month off debts
