What calculator do you all use to work out the percentage, each time I use a different one it gives me a different answer....

Also can I join please? No rush for a number, enjoy your time away this weekend minicooper :)

To work out percentage take the amount you have paid off, divide by the amount of debt and times by 100. So for example if you have paid off £100 and your starting debt was £1000 you would do this

    100 divided by 1000 x100= 10%
    Goals for February
    Declutter 2/50
    Money Made £0/£200
    Overpayments £0/£200

Oh no! I feel ancient now :( I'm really not. Really

Moving on *ahem* monthly payment gone out for loan and I think I have it worked out how much will actually come off the balance and how much will be interest. Updating my total, using chalk and chalk board ;)

    Goals for February
    Declutter 2/50
    Money Made £0/£200

No worries. At least you were paying attention unlike my DD, who this afternoon, spent the time I was supposed to be helping her with her maths homework, with one eye on Jungle Book :rotfl:

Well.... it is Friday night...... :)
  • Apologies but I have to be a complete pain in the proverbial again by amending both of my figures as follows:

    544.07/9179

The total figure has gone up as I completed a 0% interest money transfer to clear off my overdraft. I was paying £15 interest per month, and the whole transfer only cost £40, so the overdraft is transferred. The total debt goes up but it now means everything (bar £300 on one credit card) is 0% for a minimum of another 9 months.

The first figure has changed as my direct debit for cc #1 went out in the sum of £30.41

As a result of the money transfer I went to my bank and asked to close down my overdraft. Apparently I need to have a £10 overdraft with the type of account I have, but I think that amount of debt I can handle :A It's a huge boost for me as this is the first time I have been out of my overdraft in more than a decade, and I have struck while the iron is hot and shut the overdraft and reserve limit facility off.

I also contacted N*twest, as I had a credit card with a ridiculously high credit limit and absolutely nothing on it. The money had been transferred off to credit cards #1 and #2, so asked to shut down the account. I now have all my debt on two 0% credit cards, and have a whopping £9,000 less available credit today than I did yesterday.

Now on with the paying off, roll on payday on Tuesday :j:j
