Warning, self centered post full of self pity. I just need to put this out there as I need to let it go!

I've crashed out and burnt :(

Just feeling fed up this morning. We have been sticking to our budget for two months now and have made a good start following our LBM over Christmas, BUT I am now bored and feeling rebellious. The excitement of gaining control of our money has worn off. I'm a 43 year old adult yet this morning I feel like a petulant six year old - I'm fed up of following a budget, fed up of having to watch every penny in the supermarket and fed up of being in debt :(

I'm not about to give up on this challenge and I'm sure that in a week or so when we hit payday (and I can get a bit of a high from paying some more debt off) then this feeling will go. I'm planning to spend some time reading the DFW Diary board today to find inspiration and feel a bit more positive - I don't usually 'do' footstomping and have no idea how this has managed to creep up on me!

It's probably best to ignore this mornings pity-party, it's only me invited and I'm not going to be good company! :rotfl:

Tiffany aching - as hard as it may sound you need to pull yourself together and stick with it because if you blow it today think how much worse you will feel. My advice would be refocus on why you are doing it in the first place, go for a nice long walk and perhaps treat yourself to something you really like, mine would be an undisturbed soak in the bath and a good book! It really is worth it in the long run but everybody on here will have had their moments when they have wanted to give up!
What advice would everybody else give?

I often have days like these, I find that sometimes just having a nice day out and not worrying about what we spend for once can help to beat that feeling of rebellion. It can still be fairly controlled, i.e. going to a local beach/forest etc and having a tea&cake in the cafe etc. Don't worry though, we've all been there and I'm sure you'll find the motivation hits you in the next few days :)

Hubby's OCD can have it's uses, last night he paid a fair whack off of the cc's (I lost track of how much I had reported on here), so that we could level it off at £7000. So pleased that he is now finding the motivation to beat this debt too, even if it has taken 3 months :T

    So, to update...#135 £2000/£9000=22.2%
    £2000/£9000=22.2%:)

Go for a walk, get some air and think of what you have achieved! :j

As everyone else has said... we all have days like this. I had mine only recently! It is hard work being in debt, and even harder when you feel everyone else around you isn't. As this forum shows everyone has lots of battles, and just reading everyone's posts is such motivation to getting that debt down and eventually gone.

I don't know where you live, but it is a sunny day here in Surrey, so enjoy the sun - it's free!!!

Just accept it is one of thoose mean red days, and it will soon pass and you will back to your moneysaving, debt busting great self again.
Treat yourself to a cheap bottle of wine / cream cake / or gossip magazine - whichever is your vice AND ENJOY.
