My other colleague adopted three older siblings and has had lots of problems with their birth father. She says once you have the kids, social workers disappear and they've had no help with what sound like pretty awful situations. Which is pretty much my experience of social workers with mum! Lots of thinking to do, for now I'm reading anything and everything on it!

I haven't got any personal experience but a colleague of mine fostered regularly and eventually adopted two of the foster children (siblings). She always said that during the years she fostered different children there was lots of support from social services but once the adoption was complete there was very little in the way of backup or help available. She did have some awful problems with one of the adopted girls but I think that was down to the birth family circumstances rather than the adoption process itself. Whichever way you go hope everything works out how you want it to.

Sorry the quote is so late. I have only just sat down.

Am loving how everyone is joining in with their own quotes. :D
  • Evening everyone,
I'll give you a laugh with something that my Auntie said after she had got a new widescreen television:
"I like my new tv as I can see more people on Eastenders". :rotfl:
She didn't seem to realise that it is the same amount of people on the screen but just a little bit wider because the picture has been stretched.

Haha i love that bless her :rotfl:
    belated birthday wishes LOLLIE79.
my problems the other way round re tidying, if i do it and the house is [STRIKE]immaculate[/STRIKE] clean and tidy;) no one comes but if im crafting, ill, busy or CBFA:o you can guarantee the visitors will be queuing up. ive even had a parcel delivery guy ask if he can use the bathroom when i knew laundry was all over cos i was mid sorting. I lied and said sorry my DD was in the bath:D

Oh god yes that has happened to me, when i wash i sort it into piles in the hall but where you cant see it from the front door, one day i had loads and loads so spread it a bit further, the blooming door went and it was the electric company wanting to read the meter arrgggh i was so embarrassed :o
b_e_g and hismissus just wanted to say thinking of you both at this difficult time. Sending hugs xx:grouphug:
Well I've had plenty of time to keep up with all your gossip. I've been laid up all week with bronchitis! Been ill since beginning of December but finally decided on Tuesday enough was enough. Went to the Drs and got told off for not going sooner. Any longer and it might have turned to pneumonia:shocked: On double dose of antibiotics and gotta go back next week.
keep up the chatter, keeps me entertained :j

Oh BLOOMINGTASTY you naughty girl ;) hope the ABs work quickly, look after yourself

OMO why is it with quotes you know exactly what they mean :rotfl::rotfl:is it a sign of getting old?? :rotfl:You sound as though you have had a busy day

MURIE lovely to see you on here :) im sure your mum will love her cake and have a lovely day, thankyou for those lovely words, well i have tbh he didnt really have anything to do with the kids, too busy being one himself

PINKSTEPS hope you are ok, how is DS getting on?

Freespirit I work late every other Thursday. Then I did the weekly food shop, got it put away and walked Mia.
Am now in my jimjams trying to stay awake. If I go to sleep now I will be awake at silly o'clock in the morning. :(

Ds took a picture of the fridge this evening as he said it is fuller than it was at Christmas :rotfl:

It is full, but it's all milk, fruit, salad and low fat yoghurts. Morrisons had packs of 6 muller lights for £1.50, so I got 3 packs.

ETA Morrisons also had 2 different bottles of Christmas Beer for £1.25 each with Jan 15 end dates. I got my Dad one of each for next Christmas.

Festive Princess nobody would think you a misery guts!!! You are so incredible brave, strong and an inspiration to us all. But don think for a single second that that means you can't grumble, we, well me in particular all have one now and again, it's allowed - I'm almost human :) A no spend day hey, make up for it tomoz. Did you catch any of CBB? Who will go tomorrow. Can you believe Lee Ryan? Did you feel a little bit sick watching Lionel (yuk yuk yuk) Can you tell I love it. Every blinking second of this series. Anyway, this is Nan tucking you in, night night my darling, sleep well I'm hoping tomorrow will be much brighter for you xxx
Blooming Tasty what are you like! you naughty thing! I'm hoping that that double whammy of antibiotics kicks in very blooming quick and you begin to feel like yourself again xxx
Mrs M aww bless you! I woke feeling a bit yuk today and popped on, read your post and as usual you made me smile :) Today's the day that I shop till I drop and I wasn't feeling it. Any way, I just looked for things to make me smile and smiled thinking of you. Sounds cheesy but it's absolutely true. Thank you xxx
Murie aww don't feel that you can't post tho. Just pop in and say hello and tell us what you've been up to (very important to feed my nosey nature- otherwise you face interrogation) don't feel you have to comment on everything. It's way better just to say hello :) I miss you when you aren't around xxx
Thanks lovelies, there's been plenty going on to make us smile today, even though we know some of our friends are going through a very tough/sad time. Thinking of you all especially his missus and her family for tomorrow's funeral - sending all our love and strength to help you through the day and B_e_g and family sending love and virtual hugs xxx
