  • deannatrois ooh naughty bugs! That can't be a very pleasant task for you, I do hope they leave you alone very soon. I'm glad to hear you were able to take photos, it's such a shame nowadays that people can't take photos anymore. I understand the reasoning behind it, but it is a sad state of affairs. I had to sign a consent form the other day at a Bumps & Babes session I go to. Those crackers sound fab, I sometimes think it's good to have stuff inside crackers that you can actually do something with, we had a game inside our crackers once (the game was on the box and counters inside the crackers) and it kept us entertained for ages!

Feisty yay well done you for finishing your orders! :T I bet that's a weight off your mind! Good luck with all the wrapping. I have half-done mine, I keep going to all of my presents and staring at them thinking 'I must wrap you' but then walking out again! :p I think it's because I used to be able to take my time and put a Christmas film on whilst doing it, but now I can only wrap one or two here and there so I never really get into it. Running out of time now though!

I have started an 'Edible Gifts' board on Pinterest that i'm now addicted to pinning on - you can guess what everyone's getting from me next year!!! :p

    Xmas Saver!
I'm sure you probably know this but on Christmas Eve at 5.22 pm the International Space Station will by flying over the UK. It will be visible for approx 3-4 minutes and will be coming from the South. x

Of coarse you all know it's really Santa making his rounds xx
  • Been AWOL again for a while, but just wanted to pop on and wish you all Avery merry Christmas - just in case I don't get chance to do so nearer the time.

Its a bit hectic here, I think i may have bitten off more than I can chew by taking on my 3rd job! Dh & I are having talks as to which job should be dropped in the new year. I worked very hard to set up my own business, and spent a lot of money on it over the last 2 years, but it just isn't profitable. I am working unsociable hours, driving here there & everywhere, for pennies really!

So dh is convinced that should be the one to go, where as I would rather drop the Saturday job! The only thing we agree on is that my midday/supply TA is the keeper!

I don't have any Christmas spirit, I just soooo tired, but I break up after tomorrow, and hope my mood will improve. On a positive note, all presents are wrapped & ready, with the last of family gifts being delivered tomorrow. Just need to battle the supermarket masses next Monday to pick up the fresh food to see us over the festive few days!
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.
  • I'm off for the rest of the year, so wishing you all a happy, peaceful, stress free Christmas & New Year.

Love it!!!! What a miserable old thing she is - I could understand her being miffed if you'd got an artic or something similar but a car????

OMO - like the hot drinks station, I think that's the same coffee maker that I've got DH for Christmas.

Deannatrois, I do hope you manage to keep the little bu**ers away. Sounds like you're doing all you can and the tape on the bed legs is a great idea. Fingers crossed you get rid.

GTQ, thanks for the update on JJ, I thought she'd been quiet. Sending lots of Christmas wishes her way and hope Fred gets kicked into touch very soon.

Mandco, sorry to hear your DS has the dreaded norovirus. Hope none of you get it and you're all fighting fit for Christmas.

Hope Christmas spirit returns very quickly to all who have misplaced theirs.

Wasn't able to log on yesterday as babysitting day and overnight for the two little DGSs. Went ok - little one slept through and bigger one woke up four times but settled back each time. I'm shattered though, been 'chasing' older one (2) on his scooter with little one (1) rushing along behind pushing his walker and squealing lol. Anyway, that's my last 'job' done. Have pre-Christmas dinner at local pub on Sunday with honorary DD and family (wont see them over Christmas) then it's final touches for the big day and looking forward very much to arrival of DD and DGD on Christmas Eve :D
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
  • My christmas wrapping is always a bit last minute (really last minute lol) but last night I watched Alex Polizzi Christmas Fix. Most of the fancier stuff was way beyond what I'd consider doing but she did some parcel wrapping (with a wrapper from Harrods) and there were some useful tips there.., folding the paper on the edge of the present (box present), and using double sided sticky tape (maybe my kids could actually open the present without assistance from a hammer sometimes lol).

So I'll be trying a different way of wrapping presents thanks to that programme lol.

Definitely making headway with the bugs. Shampooed the mattress, most of the stains are gone and gonna give the carpet a really thorough hoover tomorrow. Then spray again. Its already been steamed and sprayed a few times. Then will be putting the room back together again.

Starting to feel a bit better. When I first saw how bad the bug infestation was I didn't know what to do lol!
  • OMO thanks for the space station update, I didn't know that. Will try to look out for it!

pinknfluffy I hope you manage to come to some agreement with your jobs, I can understand how you feel about your own business. Sometimes it's the battle between spending time doing what we love versus making money. I hope your Christmas spirit comes back soon and Merry Christmas in case you don't get back on here before! :xmassign:

Also :xmassign: GTQ, have a great one!

deannatrois glad to hear you're making headway with the bugs.

I popped into a charity shop yesterday and picked up 'Christmas at the Cupcake Cafe' by Jenny Colgan. I enjoyed 'Meet Me at the Cupcake Cafe' so was happy to find this. I bought it for next year but i'll probably read it before then! My current book is really frustrating me, I couldn't wait to finish my last book so that I had something festive to read in December but it's still summer in the book and there's been a death - not very festive! I have a feeling i'll be reading the festive bit in January!

Did someone here sell paper cuts? I have been invited to a christening next year and thought one would be a lovely gift.
