finally managed to catch up although I bet that will not last long. thread is moving at a fab pace now.
Hello to all the lovelies that have come out of lurking to join and hugs to all those that need them this week.
JJ - hope all is going well and that your out of hospital soon.
Freespirit - never managed to say congrats on Max - he is such a wee cutie. glad your DD is getting the help she needs and well done her for being able to get help. Can't have been an easy thing to do. :T
sorry I never remember to keep peoples names so I can reply properly as I flit between comp at work and tablet at home. although I do have to say I loved whoever had the potato Christmas dream - brilliant!!
I've watched some of the Christmas Ads and I have to say I am disappointed in the M & S one. not up to their usual standard. Unfortunately I have not seen the Coca Cola truck one (Dont watch X Factor) so technically my Christmas hasn't started yet (but who am I kidding). Just incase anyone didn't already know - T*sco are doing a holiday truck T shirt in mens dept and also a set of Pjs for men too. Got my DH to buy me the T-Shirt as part of my Xmas present. Can't wait
What is everyone who is doing a snowman tree this year using for hats and as the black buttons down the front - I have a 6ft white tree and I'm struggling to find anything big enough to make an impact. Any suggestions - think my crafty brain cells have packed their bags due to over use past few weeks.
Anyway try not to bore you all with stupidly long post. Loving the makes. really must try to get looking at pinterest board but have trouble enough keeping up with on here.

MRSMONEYPENNY oh its so special isnt it seeing baby on the screen, im glad baby and DD2 are both doing well, i am the same i am ridiculously besotted with him. How is MIL doing now?
thank you, im so excited for her about babe and will be knitting more baby things after christmas. mil is not doing brilliantly if im honest but is coping well and still getting about. the 2 week radiotherapy finished (it was offered as palliative care) then we found out shed fractured two vertebra so has back pain as well now. she still manages to get to get to the cinemas senior screen and out for a meal each week with her friends and i do all her cleaning and shopping so between us we are muddling through
havent seen the sains ad yet but will look out for it
danielle the photos of your makes look fab, thank you for sharing.
ruth, i didnt reaslise how much i loved trisha ashleys books, id forgotten 12 days was by her till i started reading another and saw it written on the cover. i fancy reading chocolate shoes and wedding blues so will look out for that, at the mo im stuck into the magic of christmas and my housework is really suffering for it. has she got any more christmassy ones in the pipeline and will there be another set in sticklepond?
edit. ive just become a fan of hers on goodreads, so i should find out via that now when she writes anything new

I bought 10 (two Frozen, two Princess, two Doc McStuffins and four snowmen more general ones that could be suitable for boys) but it's just a drop in the ocean really. If the local homeless shelter don't get back to me about the warm clothing then I might spend that money on more advent calendars instead. If you can find your local foodbank online you could perhaps email them and ask about how many. I emailed mine to find out if they wanted them and they replied straight away but I didn't think to ask how many families they have but I would think there are quite a lot.Gettingtherequickly wrote: »JJ may be kicked out today:j They are removing the bolt today so, I suppose depending on time, she goes home either today or tomorrow. I was planning to see her tomorrow afternoon, but as I said to her, in the nicest possible way, I hope I don't:D
Fabulous news, hope it all goes according to plan. Come home soon JJ.
Danielle, those makes look really good.
Kiwi, hope you've seen the coke ad by now - it seems to have been on the Sky channels a lot. I'd read they were using a new one this year so it's nice to see the tradition hasn't died. Sad to see they've started shortening the John Lewis one already though, I think it loses something when it isn't the full length.
Freespirit, we've got the coke truck back near us again this year but it's on the day that DD and DSIL are going to a wedding and we're staying at theirs to look after the DGSs so won't be able to get to it anyway.
I read on Facebook the other day that they will be showing the Bisto ad on tv on Christmas Day in tribute to Linda Bellingham - apparently the FB petition got 150,000 signatures.
Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. We've got honorary DD and family coming tomorrow and then DS and family staying Sunday and Monday so a busy few days ahead. Next weekend we have eldest DGD coming to stay for a few days and then the weekend after that it's my mum's 80th birthday and youngest DGSs 1st so we've got a family get together for those. The rest of the year we have very little social life at all :rotfl:It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -

I love the M and S ad in particular the two fairies activities before the ad launch, thought it was pretty good advertising, I may be biased though as I know some kids who go to the school in Cornwall that had the snow
first time ever they had seen it
