Hi all, read this thread a lot but probs haven't posted since last year.
Was hoping you might be able to help me, we had an elf at ours for the first time last year and my dd's have started talking about it and wondering if she'll come back. During this conversation dd2 commented that shed like a book with all the elves in and their names, do you have any idea if such a thing exists?
If not I thought maybe our elf could arrive with a scrap book to remind her of home with pics of her friends and family in and messages from them, we only have one elf so was wondering if any of you with elves would mind emailing me a pic of them and their name so I can print them out and make up a book.
    Thanks Kelly

Hi Kelly, the scrapbook is a fab idea. I'm thinking only prob might be if everyone has the same elf (the one that comes with the book) in which case they might all look the same lol. I'll ask DD if she can send me a pic of Rosie-Elf who is coming back for her second visit to DGD on 1st December. You could also have a look at other people's elves on Facebook or Pinterest and save the picture and print it out. This is such a good idea I might have to do it for DGD too :D

Thanks everyone for your best wishes and comments - feeling much better now and had a lovely morning with DD yesterday doing festive bits i.e. spending money in B&M.

Newthrift, hope your GUAG comes back soon although housework doesn't really inspire me either lol.

Glad you found your elves Nic - I remember you couldn't find them. Hope your little nephew enjoys a long friendship with the one you're giving over for him.

    Pixtotts, congrats on your sale.

Nitnurse, Pixtotts is right, they should send you an email with a link to click on that takes you to the elfilicious board but hope you find it anyway. I've got loads of new ideas from it already.

Penguinofdeath - well done, just shows you were right to hang on in there.

I was going to reply to more people too but I've got all muddled up with who said what so please forgive me if I've ignored anyone.

Hoping it's a case of 'no news is good news' for JJ.

We've got the Christina Marie pop-in-kins elf not the normal elf on the shelf one. Would love a pic of Rosie elf plse as don't think it's very likely I'll find an elf book. If you decide to do scrap book aswel then I will send you a pic of Christina Marie if you want:D

Of course :) this should take you there > http://www.pinterest.com/SimplyCharB/elfilicious/

nitnurse-not2 I think they send you an email, but also if you log into pinterest and look top right the speech bubble thing should have gone red and it should be in there too... I've just added you again for good measure :)

Though having said that if anyone has sent me their email address and not received an invite tell me because my internet can be appalling so sometimes it doesn't go through first try :(

Those talking about making crackers I saw something somewhere... could have been hobbycraft book/website, could have been pinterest... not sure... but they put sequins in the crackers too! I thought that was an awesome idea, nightmare to tidy but got to love sparkles :D

B I G news.... I just sold my first item on etsy!!
It's only bunting made from vintage maps so I'm not exactly making my millions just yet, but eek! exciting!! :)

Also just picked up a Boots Chirstmas gift guide, spotted them through the door so nipped in for 2 :)
Got a reusable bag from Primark, "Owl I want for Christmas...." with a pickte of the cutest owl in a Christmas hat on one side and little owls and christmass puddings on the other :D

Thank you, have followed the group. Looks like some good ideas there! Will have a proper look when I get some spare time :)
  • Good luck with the midday supervisor job interview - sounds like you'd be a fantastic asset to the school. :)

Great to hear everyone else's preparations are going well too.

I am going to try and be good this year. I always shop early and the end up buying more and more in the build up to Christmas, spending money I don't have. Aside from a bottle of whisky [will look out for offers on his favourites], I am done where presents are concerned... I think.

Ordered some cellophane for my hampers now, so will look at putting them together properly in the next couple of weeks. I think I am happy with them, though if I do see anything little bits that are appropriate, I will likely end up getting them to throw in. :o
