Morning, it's a sick house here. Today I have all 3 kids off nursery and school. All vomiting in their beds. Had to change both Dd2 and DS beds last night at 2 am. Looks like ill be next, watch this space.

Last night I got a couple of items 50% off on a Tesco early bird sale that ends today. I can post the link and there's a code, but not sure if I'm allowed to post it? I'm sure it will be on the grabbit or voucher boards. I got a drum set for my nephew ( getting my sister back for the noisy gifts she bought my lot :D) and the Playmobil zoo for dd2 which was £20 with the 50% off. Not sure if its worth it, so will have a look once I get them home.

I had a look at the Christmas magazines last night, I fancied the Prima one but its £4.99. Will have another sift through it to make sure there's plenty in it and not just adverts.

Thanks for the tip on the Tesco sale and msgigglewick for a rn down of what's in store - will have to go and have a nosey!

Ladies, I need your advice again.

Firstly, thank you to everyone who helped me decide what to get my girlfriend for Christmas.

I am hoping to make her life easier and hinting what I want but how shall I do it?

Without sounding like a big kid, I really want a remote controlled helicopter, this one in particular.

To be honest, I would be happy with any of these.

Any tips on how to bring up the subject? I know girls are great at this stuff!

I would just come out and say it! I normally write a list of possible ideas for my DH to pick from.

Just say to her "If you are short of ideas for a Christmas gift there's something I'd quite like" and tell her what it is. She might be grateful for the suggestion.

    Hi Ed,

Not quite answering your question but maybe you can tackle both problems from a different angle.

If you live close enough to any of the venues what about taking her for a day out to somewhere like the Ideal Home at Christmas Show. They have a wide selection of gifts for all tastes and budgets, including remote controlled helicopters. Got one for OH a couple of years ago :rotfl:

You could see what she likes and drop hints about what you like plus it makes a great day out. If you look online you can usually buy 2 for 1 tickets so pre booked entry would only cost around £12 for the 2 of you.

OH, a man that hates shopping of any kind, and I love it but unfortunately don't think we will be able to go this year :(

    Thank you CEW and Hollycupcake.

I think the short list of ideas is great. I might try that in future.

I had no idea about the Ideal Home at Christmas show. I'll have to get us some tickets. I might even drag a friend and his mrs along too because they are probably in the same boat as I am.

    Hello all.

Still on stand by to have a bed in Southampton hospital - They want to do another Lumbar puncture despite the pain and risks involved , its either that or having a bolt put in lol. Then if results aren't good possibly emergency brain surgery to open the shunt back up. Hope they hurry up so I can concentrate on moving forward.

I need to do more Xmas shopping. And children birthday shopping , also my uncles birthday lol. Crikey.
Paid the majority of my bills last night , have a rough idea of October money.

Can anyone post examples of easy to do santa sleighs and snow man soups please.

You get all excited about them and say how much you'd love one.. you've been looking at 'this one' ..

Or just send her it in a facebook message or text or email saying 'Please ask santa for this for me!'

My OH was bought one by his sister and he didn't even bring it home he was totally underwhelmed.. he didn't even try to be enthusiastic!

Bear in mind her income/outgoings £150 might be out of the budget..
