Nic - I am not sure I would like to break the traditional christmas dinner lol. Feels like a good old fashioned roast , just a bit posher and more effort involved
.
I am all happy now as I have wrapped my first Xmas gift of 2014 - Gold and red themed complete with ribbon bow and tag all co-ordinating lol.I have also put more effort in my "list" This week I hope to pick up for my uncle
Moisturiser( he gets through loads)
Chocolate
Novelty item like socks or a cup or something
I am hoping all his Xmas presents will come to under £8.50
I have £5.50 left as brought him a personalised wallet (which is what I wrapped today lol)
Everyweek I am going to have Christmas goals to make sure I am super organised , on top of my game! x
In my Xmas cuboard I found a obscene amount of gift tags , card , ribbon and bows lol. Not to mention we have lots in the garage to!! xNanMias - cyber granddaughter!

Hi everyone - still catching up so not quite up to date.
hugs to all that need them and hello to anyone new.
just spotted on topc**hback that they now give 5% on some gift card purchases.
Just thought I would mention it incase anyone was not aware of it (I wasn't!) Better than nothing if you are buying them - or even if you want to "gift" them to yourself it includes Starbucks, Toys r us, Debenhams, M & S and quite a few others... just incase it works out better rates than going through the sites to get cashback.
anyway might help someone.

:bdaycake: Happy Birthday freespirit and also to anyone else who I have missed!!
nic personally we prefer traditional Christmas dinner. Although with my parents the meat is Duck (which to me is more traditional over Turkey and I prefer it) and to my in-laws it's Turkey. Last year when I cooked I did do Turkey as it was most preferred, I had debated beef if i'm honest! I can see the novel of something different if people don't mind though, you could always have a traditional Christmas dinner later in the week if you feel you missed it
Trying to think what I will put my brothers birthday hamper in, will have to root for a box and wrap it I think!Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
Mum to two boys :heartpuls0 -
oh happy birthday freespirit, hope you have a good one.
we are veggie so dont go for trad turkey but still do veggie version of christmas dinner with veggies roasts stuffing and nut roast or quorn style roast. or something of that ilk. one year i did puff pastry mushroom tarts but still served all the usual trimmings. we have christmas pud as well after with either custard or ice cream.
i always have to do hm mushroom soup for starters as everyone asks for that.
mine will be for 9 this year i think. 4 veggies, 2 vegans and 3 meat eaters so its great trying to juggle that lot in the oven!! as i do offer meat and vegan choices
Amey now we are in october im looking forward to hearing all about the new snowfariy type products as soon as you can please. also what can you tempt me with lush wise for an expectant vegans christmas giftys?SPC~12 ot 124

Irish Rose, !!!!!!? I worked in a school for 20 years and never a raised voice between staff. Hope all is calm today and child in hospital unrelated.
Dreadful situation,sending hugs.
Love to all Vx
LOL to be fair this argument was brewing for a while. Person who it was with is a pain in the rear end and has been told by a few of us to stop doing what was being done. but of course they never took the hint:mad:
The person in question actually forced one girl to leave her job because of what she was doing. She got a job in her old school, and turns out this person made their lives hell also!
We were all called in one by one today by the Principal and V.Principle and asked our thoughts and version of events. I told them the truth, when this person worked with me they were lucky I was working with kids as I had to bite my tongue often:mad:
Child who was taken to hospital, is still in. She's being tested for diabetes:eek: Her mum had told us yesterday that she'd been unwell the night before but seemed to be OK. Which was true TBH. But then she became worse and by lunchtime we phoned home, while waiting child started being sick and just deterioted, then just as mummy was arranging to get her home she passed out:eek: Scary biscuits indeed. Yesterday wasn't a good day at all lol
Today was better though :rotfl:
Just made a list of magazines to buy this week - I very rarely buy magazines, but I read somewhere on here that one Magazine will be giving L'Occitane hand cream worth £8 in a £4 magazine. So will hopefully be able to get 2 of each scent and give those out as Christmas gifts:TPay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -
nic2075 - Last Christmas my great uncle and aunt declared just before Christmas that they would be having steak for their Christmas dinner, because for years now their children/grandchildren had had christmas dinners with their own families, so there wasn't really any reason for them to pretend to like turkey any more out of habit... They'd have something they did like for a change lol. Just sad they didn't make that decision years ago....
I personally don't like turkey, but pigs in blankets, and the FOUR types of stuffing are what makes Christmas... Its the four stuffings blow my mind... I love stuffing...
I'm about to spend an evening on pinterest, I'm so tired today I don't know why need to be lazy

I hope you feel better soon!
My mum purchased one of those boxes on Wednesday for a candle to go in which she brought for my cousin for Christmas (it was one in a glass pot from Nex!)
Welcome back Nanamia it is lovely to see you posting again! Sorry to 'hear' that thing's haven't been great but glad they are on the up! You have been missed
Well me and OH headed back to Meadowhall today and I got a full refund for the boots I had brought Wednesday. He then took me for a look around the jewellery storesbut we couldn't find the ring that was just right - or in the price range :rotfl: I am quite particular and have accidental expensive taste
He has said he learnt more what I would like and he will take me to the town about 30mins away where thing's are just cheaper and we will look there :j
This afternoon I had 20 minutes putting the wrapped sweets (hunmbugs/sherbets/eclairs ect..) from the original bags in to adorable little clear bags and tying some pretty ribbon around the top. It spread the sweets out between FIL and OH's grandparents plus they look pretty
3rd Christmas cake is smelling very lovely, just MIL and our's to make now! Everyone looks like they are doing well with shopping and bargin finding!
Good Afternoon all hope you don't mind me posting but I just have to sympathise with freespirit66. I have also had two trapped nerves in the same place at the top of my back and I was in agony especially with the first one. I left it and left it and it would not go. Had to go to chiropractor in the end but by then I d have paid anything.
The pain I was in was like when the dentist accidentally touches a nerve but constantly from my shoulder right down to my fingers . In fact my finger is still numb nearly a year later. Anyway suffice to say it was the worst pain I d ever been in including three children. Hope you recover soon.0 -
Thank you for replying. I guess I will have to be sneaky and find out what she would want. Girls really are difficult to buy for!
Lots of us like expensive candles though - my bestest fav is forbidden fruits from partylitStop and look in various windows and see if any things makes her OOO a bit. If in doubt I can really recommend champneys hand cream (boots) I have not met a lady that disliked it maybe steer her round there for another sniff?Life happens, live it well.0 -
