Thank you for replying. I guess I will have to be sneaky and find out what she would want. Girls really are difficult to buy for!
We are.. but at least you care enough to be trying to find something she would like.. not something you like, so she feels she has to like the things you do.. allowing others to be themselves and encourage that is the basis for a successful relationship .. good luck with your shopping and pop back any time for more input xxLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I'm a very simple guy so it's fairly easy to buy gifts for me but I can't say the same for my girlfriend.
I've been looking at romantic Christmas gifts for her on Temple Spa and cannot decide between the "Tah-Dah" and "All Bright and Shiny". Could any ladies help me pick one?
I would ask her best friend but she has a habit of telling her what I am planning
I use their shower gels (a gift from a friend) but I have absolutely no idea what most of the girl's products are/do.
Thanks :money:
personally the best gifts i have recieved have been memberships to places i love to go (this one was a local estate that is brill for kids, i keep this one up yearly). Cheap nights away in a town near you, i.e about 30 - 60 mins away, cheap hotel with breakfast. we pick up a take away or order delivery in, or cheap pub meal. a few select drinks and make a wee night of it. we get the deals from places like groupon, itison and 5pm deals. some hotels have swimming pools, health suites to make it seem like its been an expensive gift. My only requirements have been that anywhere we have stayed has a bath, as i only have a shower unit in my home.
Another gift that we have previously done is lessons to a new hobby, we are lucky that we have an indoor ski slope about 30 mins from us, and we got skiing lessons, the 1st ones are normally cheap and tehn u get a discount for booking the next one on the night...
My idea is its all about spending time together.
You could maybe suggest pooling your budget together and looking for a weekend away and then have a smaller budget for something to open on the day?Living Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb

Yesterday I picked up some cute little stocking and Christmas tree shaped foil covered chocs for the advent Callander I bring out each year. I have 3 kids, so the 'elves' leave a chocolate each night in one of the wee stockings of the calander. I need some cadburys coins if anyone has seen any? My Tesco only had their own brand which was the same price as cadburys last year.
The Pinterest board is looking fab. I've also had a nosey and started following a couple of you *stalker*
I love the smell of lavender too Pigpen. I have 2 plants next to my front door. They smell lovely in the summer, but even now if I rub the stalks, they smell wonderful. I find it really relaxing:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
ed-p i'm afraid we are hard to buy for
My OH always says that he rarely gets to surprise me as we always either pick the gift up together or he gives me the money and I buy something then he wraps it. The plus side though is money isn't wasted. He has brought me smaller token surprises that are always nice - something no more than £5-£10 so you could always do that to if she ends up picking something!!
nic2075 :rotfl: I wouldn't worry this will be me soon once I have nosed on the boards more haha!!Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

I was chatting to my friend about Christmas meals. She told me last year they opted for a Chinese and it was the best Christmas Day ever as there was no washing up or stress.
I mentioned it to my OH and now he fancies it.
I just don't think I could break from the tradition of a proper turkey and all the trimmings. I can stretch to beef and gammon, but I love my turkey, sprouts, roasters, stuffing and pigs in blankets.
Has anyone here ever ventured from the traditional, and how was it? Or are you all Traditional types?
in my eyes I can have a Chinese or Indian any given Friday through the year. I love the tradition of all sitting together, pulling crackers and eating turkey etc:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
One year when ds was about 2 we lived in Thailand & had club sandwiches & beers on the beach for Christmas dinner. Best one everI don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

We haven't had a traditional Christmas lunch for about 15 years !We have had everything from curries to steak & chips. This year is going to be probably salad with whatever meat each of us want .This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
