  • Hi all,

Just been to my local Toscos and they are having 25% off F and F. But there was also a rail where some old items were already discounted by up to 50% and they added another 25%. I managed to get quite a few children's tops which had been £3 each or 2 for £5 but both reduced to £1.50. However, once put through the till not only did it take 25% off but also took £1 off so they cost me 75p each at most I think - the receipt took the £1 off first before it took the 25% off. Woo hoo bargains galore. I have set a budget for Christmas and I am determined that I am sticking to it. So far so good. Lol

    TTFN - happy Christmas shopping.

  • Nice to see you back nanamia.. hope your dh is making good progress xx bd is horrid isn't it.. i've been plaqued with it this year too (though funny enough since coming off the pills i started around the same time it appeared it has nearly vanished) Remember to get some you time xx

Christmas prep is in full swing here now, specially since i've decided what to get dd1 for her 18th bday.... just need to buy it now lol ~(living dead dolls are odd!)

There are so many lovely things appearing i'd love to buy but i must be careful! 3 more days until we are debt free!!!! yay. I had totally forgotten about m&s biscuit tins... i hope they do their weekly offer on them again... i shall get them for the inlaws ( we haven't seen them in nearly 2 years so its a token gift from dd4 really) shall get a tin for my brother and his family too, with a tin of sweets and a bottle of something. Just my step dad i haven't come up with anything just yet.

Dh is letting me order my own xmas pressie heheheh only cause i can get a decent amount of cashback with it if i order it.. Also means i can have it end of next month instead of waiting even longer lol think he's fed up of me talking about it (i only started in april ;) )

I'm off to sort out my dd4's bedroom of the baby toys... shes finally going full time school from tomorrow :( she's still too little in my eyes lol
    Totally debt free wohooo 2014

  • I need some help/opinions/ideas... I'm helping another rep with her Avon party, getting all the Christmas stuff in for it :D. Anyway in return for helping she's said I can take some of my arty stuff to try get some orders. Well I've bought this ceramic cheese platter shaped like a parcel tag, even has the hole in it where the string would go. So I'm planning on stringing it with some leather and painting it, but I can't decide what to paint on it :/
I've been on pinterest pinning things, I'm thinking writing, but in gold and silver.
    http://www.pinterest.com/SimplyCharB/christmas-plate-ideas/
It's all pinned there, can someone pleaseeee help me make a decision? I want to get started!! lol.
Any other ideas gratefully received :)

I also had another idea, don't think it's been done yet... I know a few of us are pinterest lovers/addicts (< I definitely fall into that one !), how about creating a group board, if you create one and add people we can all pin in one place, me and my friends had one for cute ideas for a friends wedding :). Maybe even a couple for different Christmassy bits and pieces, like a food one, and a gift one, I'd be happy to set it up if anyone fancies it? You just add people by their email address...
Anyway just an idea let me know :)

  • morning, and helloooooo newbies, (don't just visit, tho, pull up a chair, take off your shoes , pour a cup of your own brew, have a cyber biscuit, and stay with us.
its lovely here, lots of support and friendly people, and not all of them are as daft as l am)
Waiting for the nibs to Skype me, then , full of their news, l can carry on another week.
Did some winter garden prep too, emptied some of the tubs and re-did them with winter stuff, (went in to B&Q and they had loads of cyclamen reduced from £1.50 to 40p so, as it would have been rude not to, l bought 20 and some solanum down from £2 to 50p, may have snuck in too).
This week l have no parcels to wait in for, and must resist the temptation of ordering anything, as until my pensions are paid next week, the coffers are empty, and l don't want any overdrawn payments.
P-K do it your way, you are the expert on wriggle, enjoy this time, it goes so fast and won't come back.
l need 2 terracotta coloured hand towels, but there seems to be a world-wide shortage, and M&S seem to have cornered the market at silly price, may need to look for a dye instead.,
Speaking of M&S l'm waiting for a reduction on their shortbread tins, they are a gorgeous bronze colour this year with a stag on the lid.
Now, more coffee and a look at the online banking dread.

they also have 1/2 price bags of sweets mini choc bars £1.39 & rowntrees hanging bags 63p.
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk

  • Hey all...

Not thought about Christmas much since returning to work, after the summer holidays. Things have been a bit stressful at home - redunancy has reduced the household income by two-thirds, which is not what you need in the build up to Christmas... I am glad I'd already bought the bulk of my presents, so it is just a case of topping things up now with bits and bobs (rather than any serious spending).

Decided to put together three little hampers.
Found these great baskets reduced to £1.12 in Morrisons that are the perfect size. Just got to find something to put the third in - that is going to be a cooking hamper, with new treats to try in the kitchen, so I think I might spend the extra and buy a decent pan to put it all in.

    Sweet Hamper:
    tumblr_ncm3j9ALsT1qbm5oto2_250.jpg
Mainly American sweets, like the Peanut Butter M&Ms, picked up when I've spotted them at decent prices. Also got a few extras in there, like the Banana Crisp Dairy Milk as he loves that.
Total spend so far: £8.77 [including the basket], RRP (going by the average cost to buy things like the Nerds over here) around £18.

    Tea Hamper:
    tumblr_ncm3j9ALsT1qbm5oto1_1280.jpg
Harder to save money with this one, as the Whittard loose leaf teas he loves are very expensive. I did manage to get the tea-caddy for free though, and to save some money on the enamel mug, so that's not too bad.
Total spend so far: £15.61 [including the basket], RRP £24.45.

    Cooking Hamper (work in progress):
    tumblr_ncm3j9ALsT1qbm5oto3_250.jpg
I am picking up interesting cooking bits as and when I see them. This is the one I think would be good arranged in a decent saute pan or a wok. So far, there is salsa, spice/herb pot, chilli dressing, a Thai curry mix and an assortment of relishes.
Total spend so far: £9.15, RRP £22.58

Most of the other presents are already sorted and ready. I've not started wrapping them yet, as I like to settle on a style/theme and I haven't come up with one I like yet lol. :)
At least these little hampers will keep me occupied. I love wandering around the shops looking for bits and bobs to put in them. :)
