Evening everyone, i have had a lovely day today, woke up with BD as usual then i got a phone call from DD2 saying she had an appt with the anaethetist at the hospital just in case she has an epidural while in labour (she has scoliosis so they want to check her spine) and then she would pop in for lunch, so we had a lovely afternoon of chit chat and then she asked me if i wanted to be at the birth (i have always wanted to be at the birth of a baby, not that i wasnt at my own but you are up the other end and they get the excitement of the baby crowning and coming out) :D:D i was so touched i nearly cried :)

I was present when my daughter had her boy and am invited to the next one due in November .. it is AMAZING!! Take LOADS AND LOADS of pics.. baby crowning, cervix, first breaths .. the lot.. put them on a disc or memory stick for her.. they are THE most amazing things ever.. I know they sound gross but they really aren't they just show how amazing the human body is.

Take LOADS of tissues.. the hospital ones are so scuffy and make your nose red.. I have some beautiful pics of my daughter and grandbeast.. Take pics of her in labour too.. they seem a bit icky now but honestly they won't be in a few years.

I have scoliosis and remember having that check when I was pregnant with DD. I had to have a lung capacity test as well as I was struggling with breathing for some reason. All was fine and I ended up not needing any special treatment but was still 'registered' with the consultant and kept a closer eye on apparently. I hope your DD2 has as much luck as I did :D

RUTHHONEY you are welcome, i see you are setting something up with Tricia Ashley and Chrissie Manby, good luck and i hope it all turns out well

It's Carole Matthews and Chrissie Manby, but it looks like it's all going to be postponed until after Christmas now anyway. They both have Christmas books coming out in the next couple of months, so too busy. But I'll post here once something has been planned.

But Chrissie was kind enough to donate a signed book for a fun day I was helping out with a few weeks ago and also sent me a copy of one of her 'Olivia Darling' books, which she had signed for me. :D

PIGPEN aww that sounds lovely and to be present again for the next one, yes i have noticed when i lurk on flylady we are both due to be grandmothers in November. NICKI aww thankyou, yes DD2 is also really out of breath has been from very early on, they said it was probably due to her ribcage being out of line because of the scoliosis

MANDCO oh i wish i had someone to buy the jewellery advent calendar for :)

RUTHHONEY oh at least you will have more time to organise it, yes i saw that Chrissie had done that, what a fab lady, i cant wait to read their christmas books :)

what date is yours due? Mines the 16th... the day between my sisters and my daughters! We are thinking ours is pink but DD doesn't know.
I had to ask them to removed the latex stuff from the room because if I have to much exposure I can't breathe properly and if they touched me I'd be wheezing and rashy.. lol.

  • hey all,

Kinda lost my spirit as my OH and I have had a rough week, I will spare you the details but Im still in wobble mode even though we are talking. I actually feel bah humbug :( but I think that is the lack of sleep really. I have only slept about 8 hours all week.

Cav I have shown loads of people that app though and several have downloaded it, it really is very clever. Will save me a lot of effort when I get my mojo back so I am extra thankful you mentioned it!

Am getting a little more Christmas spirit but due to some financial commitments the whole Christmas buying is now on hold until December, which totes messes with my plan to be done before but I think everyone will be getting vouchers & a couple of opening presents so hopefully I can get that done in a day.

Luckily I have already got a few bits for DS but it will be a very tight year this year so I have told everyone not to expect much. OH & I will do a token 20 quid something to have a gift to open in the morning but I am pretty much broke will January & possibly wont have a job after February so a lot going on.

That said I have turned my mind towards food, I have for the first time in my DS life the week before Christmas off so plan to do a proper meal plan for Christmas Eve & boxing day. I usually work all of it & we have M&S fancy mac & cheese & nibbles but this year I will do us a 3 course meal. I plan for Christmas eve spent with my ds making Christmas treats & crafts, cooking & snuggling on the sofa after dinner. Perfect.
I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

  • Hi everyone :hello:

Sorry I have not been on for a while but it has been bedlam trying to get into a new routine with the kids. DS started high school and dd started reception class. We have had some work done in the living room, replastered the whole room, and we still living in a bomb site as had to wait for it to dry etc etc x off to ikea tonight Soooooo excited as I love it there.
On the christmas front I have only bought a couple of bits. Got my hubby a comedy dvd from poundland and got daughter some minnie mouse nail varnishes from there too. Oh I got a lovely insulated travel cup from there too. A bit like what you get from costco style lol if that makes sense! Going to get a couple for dd teachers and get a box of gingerbread latte satchets, some nice choccies and cellophane it all up with a lovely MDF heart tree decoration with their names on for christmas gift of dd.

If anybodys kids are into my little pony poundworld had dvds in. Got dd one and she loves it. Going to nip and get a couple more of the different episodes.
Off to do some more painting as got a wedding order to finish. See you all soon xx
    Take care and remember :snow_laug:xmassmile:rudolf::xmastree::snow_grin:xmassign:
