  • Hi can anyone give me some ideas please. I have purchased five sweet tree kits. ( came as a five pack) I plan to do these and put some nice christmas cellophane around them with some nice green ribbon. The pots are red as you can select your colour when ordering them. So have christmas colours, However what I am stuck on what sweets to use. I am looking at purchasing a glue gun if anyone can suggest the cheapest place to purchase one of these incase of using sweets that have wrappers. The sweet trees are for 3 children ranging between 6 & 9 and 2 children who are 13. I am stuck in thinking of what sweets to use that are both christmas themed and age appropriate. Thank you. Will have a look on Pinterest and see as see what ideas they have on there.

    Helloo, popping back in here.

Can't decide whether to be pleased or annoyed, tidied up a chock-a-block kitchen high shelf and discovered hubby instead of putting away all my Christmas crockery and place settings in the attic with the decs has dumped it on the shelf! No wonder we've been short of space all year! Knew I'd taken my eye off the ball in certain areas this year due to working more hours. Doesn't seem worth this late in the calendar to tell him to move it only to have to go on about it coming back down!

Haven't mentioned it to him as he is in the U.S.A on business this week. Fed up of asking him to do certain jobs around the house and it not getting done, I decided to get a man in.;) Hubby went to the airport at 5am last Saturday and by 10am I was on the phone to the plumber.:D By Tuesday evening, we had a new shower and toilet in the bathroom, new internal workings in the downstairs loo, a new shorter radiator in son's bedroom and the overflow pipe fixed. I also called an electrician to sort out two dodgy light fittings and got my Dad to fix a cupboard door back on. :rotfl: Next time I'm going to suggest he goes away for a month, so I have time to also call in a painter and decorator and a joiner.:D

Only working Friday this week and fancied a 'fix' of seeing Xmas stock.:D Disappointingly only B&M seemed to have started with their bits out. I thought Boots might have started putting some of theirs out.

    Have a good day everyone.

Oh dear got sidetracked for 5minutes and work on youtube and found this -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s98ANNOnvL4 CHRISTMAS OVERLOAD!!! I think I need to watch it again :D

Just catching up and saw this  I wonder if they use a company to come in and set it up? We have a branch of a company known as "The Christmas Decorators" (http://www.thechristmasdecorators.co.uk/index.html ) near where I live and I LOVE going in their shop when it opens to the public :D Last year the team went to Bethlehem to do the lights/tree there! I'd love to work for them but I doubt it'd be possible to do all the travelling etc being a single parent :( Another 4.5years when DD turns 18 and I'll be round there with my CV :p:rotfl:

Hi everyone - I have been a long time lurker on these boards over past few years kind of breeze in and out as and when I am able.

Still trying to catch up - only about 30 pages left to go :)

Just on off chance this helps anyone out I just happened to come across this and know some of you have little ones or may be looking for little stocking fillers.

I know most of you could probably make them but I also thought at the price it was worth a mention :)

(hope I've done that right - been a while since I've posted anything) :o
Be back soon once I've caught up

You know it's getting close to Christmas when they change the name of the board :D

Ooh I never noticed that before you mentioned it! Yay, that makes it seem so much closer! :j

We're going to have to be pretty careful with money these next few months, as both DH and I are starting new jobs. Fortunately his will only be 3 months probation, so at least we'll have a bit more financial stability by around NY, but I'd rather err on the side of caution and not go all-out crazy on Christmas spending in the meantime. So any and all bargain present ideas will be appreciated. I've already got him 2 things that I'm sure he'll love, so I'll probably just get him a few choccies, and the usual tin of shortbread, and maybe the new Fifa if I can get it on a good deal, perhaps on the Amazon Black Friday offer.

I just hope I can get Christmas booked as a holiday, as my current place closes between Christmas and NY, but my new job hasn't mentioned it, and so I might be back in work on Boxing day!
  • Afternoon everyone, i have just ordered my personalised coke bottles (i even got one with the dogs name to get free postage :rotfl:) so thanks to whoever it was that mentioned the idea of these at the christmas table they will be brilliant :)

I love these, they're so cool! I've seen recipes where ice cream cones are filled with cake mix and baked to make ice-cream shaped cupcakes, so perhaps that might be an idea here, so that the trees aren't just hollow cones covered in icing, but are actually an extension of the cake itself? Either way, pretty, festive and tasty, sounds like a good combination to me :D
