    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi all,

Been MIA as life has seemed rather hectic recently yet I can't tell you what with as it's been incredibly uneventful, huh?

Christmas plans - after a huge custody battle (ok, just a couple of texts really) I get mum on Christmas eve to sleep over and Christmas morning and sis gets her for the rest of Christmas day.

Going to make mum a Christmas stocking and pack it tight in revenge for all those we got as kids. I still have no idea how she fit everything in...the pressies certainly never fit back in afterwards no matter how much I tried! One year, I even took everything out carefully and placed in order on the bed and still couldn't make them fit.

Also taking mum away for a few days to London in December to hit the Hyde Park Wonderland and all the other festivities. Will be strange being the 3 of us without dad....

Also ordered some crafty stuff to make Christmas cards. Yes I know I have loads already left over from the past however many Christmasses but... ;)

Well I bought the 2ds from Smyths. Ordered Thursday, arrived Friday! DS and DD are nearly done now, just need to get them an outfit each and stocking fillers really. Thanks again for the link mandco. :D

Decided I'm getting pyjamas/dressing gowns for the many neices, nephews, BILs and SILs that I have so on the look out for bargains in a range of sizes! Hoping I can get a few people sorted each month so that nearly everyone is done by end of November. Tried to cut down my list but it's impossible with DH being one of 8 and most of them are still children.

Zavvi have ladies Christmas pyjamas for £7 a pair (reduced from £20) and free delivery:

Well, I have offically finished one now, not far off a couple others. Parents, brothers and grandparents need finishing, and OH I need to have a think what else to get for him. Have a few ideas for the mum's and they won't be far off finished, the Dad's I always struggle with and same with both brothers. Will have a sit and look about though see if anything catches me as good.
If anyone see's any good perfume sales, please let me know. Hoping to try and pick up the CK Shock for SIL if I find it at a good price.

Freespirit - thank you for the reminder for food buying for the day/christmas weekish I always forget until nearer too!! How funny but not funny with the chocolate fingers, good getting a £10 voucher though!!!

I hope all the missing Christmas organisers are OK :)

ONLY 128 DAYS TO GO :xmastree:

Superdrug are having a sale on many fragrances. CK Shock is one of them. The 100ml bottle is half price for £18

  • Hi all, just up for one of the night/early morning feeds. I mainly feed wriggle, however we decided the other day that DH would give him a bottle around the midnight feed so that we could share the night time duties, but the last two nights since we started wriggle has just screamed when DH has taken him downstairs and just wouldn't settle. So I haven't had the break in the night I was after and DH is really upset and has lost his confidence in feeding him. It's frustrating as DH has given him a few bottles in the last couple of weeks and he's been fine, but since we set up a formal night time arrangement he's had none of it. Not sure what to do really, looks like I'll have to plough on all night.

DH goes back to work today after his 2 weeks paternity leave, not looking forward to it. :( He has managed to arrange working from home in the afternoons this week though so shouldn't be too bad to begin with.

Good morning, am wide awake after a full 6hours sleep, thank you thank you sleep fairy, can't remember when that last happened!
Thanks for the heads up on the sun voucher on Thursday, Springdreams.
Princess Kitty, easy for me to say, but don't worry, you will be fine when OH goes back to work, and the night feeds won't last forever, not many teenagers need them! Seriously, these are precious and fleeting moments with your baby, enjoy them, and don't stress, sleep when you can and lower your standards for a while, dust is a protective covering for the furniture and baby clutter is easier to live with than a Damien Hurst sculpture! keep your chin up xxxxx

    Hello PrincessKitty

Get your OH to do one of the feeds when both you and he are awake for a while so that you are about to help soothe Wriggle if needed. Let him do the same one for about a week, the idea being that Wriggle gets used to your OH feeding him the same feed each day. Then get him to do the feed after that instead the week after, and change it each week until eventually your OH is doing the midnight feed ;)

Mrs I glad you got more sleep last night. I hope your sleep sessions get longer and longer in time.

PrincessKitty. Wriggle might not have settled with you either initially, but we will never know. Encourage your DH to give it another whirl with the feeding. When he goes back to work and is working from home in the afternoons, maybe you can get your head down for half an hour. anyway, my point is, make sure you get your sleep and put housework last. as long as you, wriggle and Dh are happy, you have food and clean clothes, nothing else matters for the moment. housework can wait.
  • ~Brrrrrrrr~ certainly noticed a drop in the temperatures this morning... ..... winter is on it's way, which means Christmas must be too :T
Thanks to the January sales, the grabbit board & the Arg0s clearance section the bulk of my youngest two presents are done. All hidden away (some wrapped!) in 9 huge storage bags purchased from D0tc0mgiftsh0p during the sales. Mr Christmas was very kind at the beginning of the year & built me 3 shelves to store them on into a deep alcove in the corner of our bedroom.
I won't be making the same mistake as last year but will wait until 2/3 weeks before the big day to purchase their main presents. They can change their minds so many times in just a short space of time, thanks to tv commercials, the latest cinema releases or what their friends think they want! so it's mostly 'timeless' toys I've tucked away, ie, Lego, games & puzzles & books. ...... Lol... Just thinking about the 3/4 chocolate oranges nestled away amongst all this, picked up for a £1 each on offer in Tesc0s many months ago!

I wasn't all that impressed with Christmas in July on QVC, just sat their thinking about what a better job I could have made of it :o;):D
I really do think it would be my dream job!
I did enjoy the Bethlehem lights shows & ordered 2 sets of lights for the kitchen but I guess I was expecting more in the way of toys, food & Christmas really!!
I did sit through most of the 48hrs it was on but had to record the pie show in order to catch 40winks. Was bitterly disappointed to find out I'd missed out on the Boxing Day day pie!!! Oh well...

Last night I reserved Draw Something at Arg0s (reduced to £12.99)
and will collect that sometime tomorrow, not sure what child to give that to yet but it does look a lot of fun for after christmas dinner. Anyone here played it?
Last year we played 5 second rule & Hedbanz ... They were both so funny that when we've had friends over in the evening since, they've made their way onto the table along with the red wine & cheese board!

Anyway, just wanted to pop on & say thanks for all the great ideas & offers I've picked up on here. Being this prepared & organised helps to take the pressure off during the winter months which also happens to house all the families birthdays.
Hope to become a regular around here X
