Evening everyone
Another one staying put tonight. Been feeling grumpy/weepy today - don't know what all that's about.
Updated excel sheet with all the cards we received and then took them to Sainsbobs this morning to recycle (start of the decluttering).
His Missus - sorry to hear dads back in hospital. Hope it wont be for too long and he will be back at home with you all.
Freespirit - great news re dds friend. :T
24MKshopper - definitely re-gift it to her next year.
AACMUM welcome to the thread :hello:
Have done very little this afternoon as I awarded myself some stitching time. Don't intend doing much tomorrow so I think I will spend a good chunk of the day with needle in hand too.
Will pop back later to catch up with you all.

Freespirit - that's amazing news. : )Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once.0 -
I'm away from the UK at the moment but still staying in as I'm another one who doesn't do NYE. Sitting in my PJs already, listening to all the fireworks going off. Why do I need to celebrate the start of a new year? I'm getting older, everything's going up in price, weathers still bad....god I sound miserable. Do wish a happy new year to you all!
2013 didn't end very well for me, so hope 2014 will be a bit better.0 -
So my OH gets home after 3 days at his mums & all I can think about is how nice it was to do want I wanted to do when I wanted. Selfish right?
Don't get me wrong I did miss him but I liked having the remote control!
Also lost teenage son to his room as he doesn't want to sit next to farting dad
So I am now sitting here with rubbish on the TV, having a mini rant and drinking gin. I will feel better in about 2 more Gins!!
Happy New Year.0 -

I've had a mulled wine (very MSE as left over from crimble), eaten my dinner and am now sat in my pjs watching strong man waiting for my OH to get up and go to work. I've got schloer in the fridge for later as I don't drink much by myself and plenty of chocolate, living the high life me0

Hello, just came on to say all the best for everyone who posts on here for the next year.
I don't do NYE much either and have the lurgy at the moment, but my brother who I haven't seen for a year as he lives in France and my nephew are visiting so I've dosed myself on meds to go round to my aunt's with them for a few hours.
Liked FF idea about those staying in posting on here, and I look forward to seeing if any of you did when I get back from my aunt's whilst I probably have a little baileys myself and listen to Jools.
My resolution should be to be more consistent in posting on here!!

Ooo thank you, reminded me I bought a bottle of schloer for Christmas and it's still under the stairs! Another not fussed about NYE so will catch up with some telly on Tivo before bed. Can't promise it will be post midnight - was up at 5.30 this morning!
Had a rather productive post-Christmas day today, picked up a half price 4ft white Christmas tree in Wilkos ready for next year, and put an order in on dotcomgiftshop picking up some of their gorgeous Christmas storage bags to keep the decorations in once they arrive. Two of these and one of these. (Probably unsurprisingly I have a lot of decorations).
I did start taking them down today but the tree is still in situ waiting for my next day off on Sunday.Hobnobs are like marines0 -
made a quick trip to te$co to pick up my order they messed up and picked up a b/day pressie while there as they had a boxing starter set 2ft punch bag + mitts ect for £15. also picked up a couple of spa type mini gift sets from sains £1.50/£1.80 which I will put away for dd b/day.
wishing everyone a happy new yr  & hope that 2014 brings more positive things
this yr hasn't been great and I will def glad to see the end of it but one thing I do find helps it to write down all the carp things that have happened and then shred/burn them. ok it doesn't make them go away but it kind of feels like your letting the stress go its done you cant change it but you can start with a clean slate and try at least to move forward in a more positive mood.
I'd better go and sort ds being trying to get him to bed for over an hr and its just not happening
tc all see you next yrthis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -
