  • Freespirit Strange I had an order from M and S come in a huge box. Only part of the order was in it. The crackers which were lovely. Why they would send it in such a big box I don't know and where is the rest of my order?

Evening guys! I've spent part of the afternoon at the out of hours DR today, as it transpires I have the start of either a chest infection or pleurisy ???

    Boo!

Anyway, just popped back on for a catch up - BBTHREE, could you possibly tell me which iPhone app you have ? I got my first iPhone a few months ago and it never leaves my side so that might work better for me.

    xx

Sorry you are coming down with something nasty : (

The app I use is "better christmas list". It's not a free one but wasn't a lot. It took me a few hours to add in categories etc at first, but it is without doubt one of the most useful things I have owned. You can also password it (which I have) hope that helps xx

Hi Everyone! I love reading this thread, been lurking awhile now. Just something I have to share with you all, how would you feel if your mother gave you a gift you gave her last year!? tbh I'm really cheesed off. I am tempted to say something, hubby says let it go! he's so easy going.

Hello 24MKshopper and welcome, i agree with the other lovelies i would give it back to her next year, and yes i would be p****d

    Hi all,
I am a longtime lurker - read everyday and feel like iIknow you all.
I have taken the plunge and decided to join in if you will have me.
My family and I are currently living on the Algarve in Portugal and I have loved reading about all your shopping exploits and bargins - never get anything like that here - but with some adapted ideas from here I managed to make up a few hampers and homemade gifts that were all gratefully received by my fellow expats!
I will be joining in more this year as this thread brings a little piece of home to me when I read !
    My B.day is 11 FEB.

Hello AACMUM and welcome to our thread, i dont think we have anyone who lives abroad on here :)

A massive welcome to all newbies. :hello:

freesprirt66 - I cannot see any way I will ever go out of the house wearing my "pressie". Not without a brown paper bag on head first, (with the lovely bobble hat on top, and scarve/snood/thing round my neck) :p

I now use mGifts. I had Better Christmas but my last update locked me out.
mGifts is pretty much the same but you can add events. So I have a Christmas list and a Birthday list.

    Freespirit That's great news :D

After being here all day alone both kids have just text me to say they are staying put so I will be here alone all evening as well. Ds is at his friends on the Playstation and dd is at her boyfriends house. It is his Mums birthday tomorrow so they are having a small party. Glad I didn't cook the roast I had planned.

Today has seemed so long, I could quite easily go to bed, but I would be up at 2 if I did. :(
  • I will just be staying at home tonight but it looks like I'm not the only one!

Happy Hogmanay / New Year's Eve to all! _party_

    Hope everyone has a moneysaving 2014! :)

I'll be home alone as well. My daughter is away spending new year with her dads family (tradition now for the past few years), and my friend who was supposed to be coming round is ill :( I said I wasn't going to spend this New Year alone, so I'm going to be here on MSE with you lot :D:beer::D
