attemped to do a good deea yesterday and it all worked out well in the end.
nipped down the shop for some milk and saw 2 eldery ladies very upset over a baby starling that was laying on its side on the path flapping one wing pathetically and looking close to deaths door. they didnt know what to do so i said if you ring rspb or pspca they usually tell you to take them to the local vets how will treat or humanely destroy them. they asked if i would do this for the bird and them so i got a box from the bin of the nearby cafe and started walking to the vets, i got about 3/4 there and box starts making scratching and scampering noises so bird seemed to be perking up or getting distressed. got to the vets and lady said they could take it but they rarely survive so usually need putting to sleep if they have been handled, she said it was up to me or i could take it home again let it stay in the box overnight and if nature hadnt taken its course in the morning i could see if it wanted to come out.
but the time i got home the scrattings were frantic, i tlod DS i was taking the bird in the garden and would open the box to see how it looked. bird flew out straight over the fence at the bottom of our garden did a circle round and headed in the direction of the local shops where id found it.
wasted an hour but i feel like a good dead was done and glad i didnt leave it at the vets. we couldnt have left it on the floor near the shops as a couple of cats were nearby so it wouldnt have lasted much longer there.

freespirit your Ikea will be my local one too (I live just north of the Berkshire border in Bucks) - I fear it's going to be a very tempting place! I think you do have to have an account for Studio which is annoying as they have rolls of 'Baby's 1st Christmas' wrapping paper for as little as £1.49. I do have an account and would happily get some for you and post on but I fear that may be a tad expensive to post so would undo the cheapness of it! Or I could take it off the roll and fold it carefully which would be quite cheap to post? If you don't mind that i'm happy to do it for you, it wouldn't be any trouble. Here's a link:

You don't need to open an account with studio I place my order then go to the payment section and pay with my card [don't forget to add the p+p to the price.
I did want a credit acc at first but as id only been in this bungalow for a month I failed the credit check which in hindsight was a good thing as their apr is 48.9%

Probably best that there's no ikea near you. Far too much temptation. :D

    Well done! :T
I don't know what's with the birds this year. Between me, my mum, a neighbour and a friend, we've had to rescue them from cats, had several birds down the chimney, bird trapped between window and a blind and some fledglings playing 'chicken' on a busy road! All within about 6 weeks.

Ruth_honey I agree about the service, this man really knew his stuff which gave us confidence. He also didn't try to push a sale which was refreshing.

mrs-moneypenny what a good deed indeed, glad to hear that the bird flew free, perhaps he just needed a rest!

There is an Accessorize sale on at the moment, I picked up a few nail varnishes to go with the candy cane emery boards I bought:

There's a few nik naks if you have girls to buy for.

Thanks that's good to know, when I had a look it just took me to opening or signing into an account and I couldn't see how to pay outright - perhaps I didn't look hard enough! I know what you mean about the APR, if I ever buy anything from there I pay it off straight away!

Afternoon everyone, another warm one today!! Since i hurt my back i have only been doing light jobs and resting, but oh dear i looked around this morning and my house is blooming filthy, how does it take so little to look so bad but so long to look good??

KATY oh they are gorgeous i especially like the shooting star, i have kept the page in my favourites, thankyou

PRINCESSKITTY oh that is funny that this IKEA will be your nearest one, long time to go though yet unfortunately, most of the buildings are knocked down now ready, as DD2 works right next to it at P*****E and they have noticed a big rat problem where they have all been disturbed, DD2 is as terrified as me :D so god knows what trouble the big sainsburys is having with them. Plus DD2 is hoping to be on maternity leave for most of the time they are building it as it will be manic with lorries etc Oh that is a lovely thing for you to offer, funnily enough i have just been on there and halfcost, but baulked at the delivery price, thankyou for the offer but i have decided i can wait its not very mse with delivery charges and they dont have to be wrapped its just me being a**l :D btw i love the babys 1st christmas paper :) Did you decide on what pram/pushchair you are having after the help? Love the jiffy bag, im sure it will come in handy one day :D

RUTHHONEY i dont have my own car anymore so cant get anywhere to buy will just postpone til another day, hope you have a good evening, food sounds great! I just dont have any success with pulled pork i have tried it twice now and mine doesnt pull apart like it should :D

MRSMONEYPENNY aah im glad it was a happy ending for the bird
