    Good morning :D

It's lovely outside. Makes me want to go camping.
You know when the grass is a bit wet and and there is a little nip in the air, but you know it's going to be a nice day. Ands it's quiet. When we camp, I'm always the first one up, and I love this time of day. A quiet coffee, just listening to the birds, savouring the moment before everyone else gets up and bedlam descends.

Off to walk the hound now. Hope everyone has a good day. :D

OMO, I kow exactly what you mean, we went with a HUGE group a few weeks ago & after all the adults, except me, got bollox'd on the friday night I awoke at 6.30 Saturday morning & sat alone in the woods with a cuppa, wrapped in a blanket & enjoyed the chill & fresh air with no one else around. Bliss.

I also got to use the shower whilst it was still clean & with piping hot water. late wakers had to cope with freezing water & a muddy flooded floor :) There are some benefits to not being a big drinker :D

OMO, not sure whether I asked you, or just thought about asking, but I saw collapsible water containers in £world and wondered whether they are worth buying. They hold about 5l and I was thinking of getting 1 or 2 for my mum for the winter. As she lives in a rural area, the pipes can freeze during the winter so though it maybe useful to fill up for emergency, at least she could make a hot drink.

I would say go for a slightly more expensive catering grade water butt as otherwise they tend to have a funny smell. We have a 10l drinking water platic container that we use for cooking & drink & then 2 of the collapsable cheap ones for washing up & waste water.

This is the one we have & it is £7.99 with free delivery

If they are being used over the winter I would spend a bit more and get solid ones. The collapsible ones are made of very thing plastic. I have never trusted them. I would think that trying to pour from one that was half full could be tricky. :)

I think the £1 shop ones are OK for festival one off camping thing or a day trip but longer term always pay to invest a bit more.

  • I know this is a strange complaint and not strictly for here, but I got my annual gas statement yesterday and cannot understand how the heck I used 25% less, yes less, gas in comparison to the previous 12mths. The weather doesn't have a great deal to do with it, as I haven't got a clue how to use the timer on the boiler, so it has been set to come on at 5 in evening until 10, 7 days a week once it is cold enough. I still need to cook and shower etc, so the hob etc is used the same amount. Think I will start putting a little extra aside for Christmas!
