I know this is a strange complaint and not strictly for here, but I got my annual gas statement yesterday and cannot understand how the heck I used 25% less, yes less, gas in comparison to the previous 12mths. The weather doesn't have a great deal to do with it, as I haven't got a clue how to use the timer on the boiler, so it has been set to come on at 5 in evening until 10, 7 days a week once it is cold enough. I still need to cook and shower etc, so the hob etc is used the same amount. Think I will start putting a little extra aside for Christmas!

Perhaps it wasn't quite cold enough in your house to come on as much as last year. If it's set to come on when the temp drops below 20C and your house was often at 19C, you wouldn't necessarily notice the 1 difference as 19 is still quite toasty and the heating won't have kicked in.

You must be the first person I know to complain about using less gas :rotfl:

Think you have hit the nail there, there are thermostats on all the rads and there were times when I found them cold, good thinking batman

I'm lucky in that I have smart meters which means that I can monitor the balance on my account and make additional payments if it makes me feel happier. Smart meters are the best invention ever :D

    Morning lovelies

sorry I've been so awol, Probably lots to tell you but before I do, I too have been finding we've used less gas than last year, which is odd caus we now have a gas cooker that we didn't last year. I also have been plagued with the headache from hell all week and it is still there today, despite having made me so sick yesterday!

I had an endoscopy last week, I don't have cancer! but they don't know why I have reflux all the time :o

Todays mission is yesterdays mission which is to clean the carpets and list some stuff on facebay, I need to get this credit card bill gone ASAP I can't deal with it anymore... or maybe I should say I am sick of dealing with it.

    Love and hugs to everyone

Hope the headaches shift soon and that everyone stays hydrated in the heat.

    xxxx

    Morning all

Just popping in to say there's a 50% off sale on the yankee candle website including some of the christmas ones! I did put a few in my basket but decided against it as the delivery is £3.95 and I begrudge paying that much in delivery!

    XxX
  • OMO I love that early morning time of day too, it's just so calming. I'm definitely an early bird so enjoy the peace at that time of day.

junior_j great news that you've been out of hospital for so long - long may it continue! Yay for the Scotland trip! We're hoping to take the little one up there next year as it's one of our favourite places to visit.

freespirit sorry to hear your headache is still plaguing you, it's so hard to concerntrate with those flippin things! Sending you healing vibes. It's good to hear the tasks are helping you (if not a little daunting at times - a bit like homework from school!) what a good idea from your DS, such a positive way to deal with things. Aw bless you're going to have a little DGS! Congratulations. Yes we have names ready now and i'm not swaying on them as it took sooooooo long for us to agree on any! :p

Ameyturtle sorry to hear you're plagued with a headache too, I do hope it goes soon. Great news about the cancer, that must have been a relief! Hopefully they will be able to figure out what the problem is.

CazD2008 thanks for the heads up about the Yankee candle sale. I still have my Christmas candles from last year - I was too ill at Christmas to burn them and deal with the smell, so i'm hoping to crack them open this year!
  • I managed to do a bit more Christmas shopping yesterday, was looking at the notonthehighstreet sale and came across these:

    http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/ellajames/product/candy-cane-emery-board?rv=c

I bought a few for my friends as I thought they'd be great in a little cellophane bag with a nail varnish and tied with ribbon! Just need to keep my eyes open for a good deal on nail varnishes now.
