evening all. Not posted for a while but been trying to keep up with you all, not easy mind:j

can anybody whos in Essex recommend anywhere to go for a nice afternoon tea.Its my mums 70th in September and would like to treat her. Don't fancy travelling to london as too expensive with the travel!

Hugs to those theat need one. High five to those with something to celebrate x

I believe the Lifehouse Spa and Hotel ( Kirby-le-Soken) do a nice afternoon tea. I will check at work on Friday. I am sure that is where a lady I work with was raving about last week. Her daughter took her there for her birthday. You don't need to book any treatments to go. I will check and get back to you. x

I nearly forgot to tell you

My friend, ( the one that doesn't bother with me now she has money), bought a caravan last month.
It cost them £150 and is a dump. It's damp and doesn't even have a toilet in it. Well ..... Today she rings me......

She is selling the caravan, because every time they do something to it they discover something else that needs doing. And she has decided that when on holiday they want luxury. They are asking £500 for it, and she wanted to know if I was interested in buying it as I was looking for one

Even though I know what they paid and what is wrong with it.

As you can imagine I wasn't impressed. I told her that I was looking at spending nearer £2000 on a caravan as I also wanted some luxury when on holiday. And that her caravan was way too small for us.

Talk about take the p. I now am saving extra hard so I can buy a really really really nice caravan just to show her !!!!

You know life in the crazy house of Nan never runs to plan. And I'm slightly prone to leaving things to the very, very last minute. True to form, we are to be at the airport 4am Saturday and I've so much to do!

I wish I would've read this post earlier! I've bought my friend the AA afternoon tea guide for her birthday, but it's now packed away in the suitcase. If it's any help, I bought it from The Works very cheaply (£2.99 and they regularly do free postage or 20/30% off) and it's a lovely book. http://www.theworks.co.uk/p/drink-books/aa-guide---perfect-places-for-afternoon-tea/9780749570460
Or see if your local library can get it for you.
Also check amazon local/days out guide for offers on afternoon teas. They come up all the time.

morning all
brilliant news about little one nanamia, please can you get some rest and take care of yourself you sound too busy!

jj hope you are feeling better

OMO. the word friend and that person shouldnt even appear in the same sentence!! she sounds incredibly shallow and self opinionated. you deserve better friends and a much nicer caravan! Sounds to me like karma played a hand in saddling her with that caravan

im from the treat people how you'd like to be treated yourself school. i once read and think its true
“How you treat me is Your Karma. How I react is Mine.”

hope everyone is well, hugs and good wishes to all who need them

thank you for the good wishes for DS1 hes still suffering and has asked me to ring the docs again when they open as he thinks he feels worse. his throat certainly looks it.

raining and miserable here so better set the airing rack up as the washing wont be going on the line today.

Omo - I'm speechless cheeky mary. Can I ask would she have treated you like this before and your eyes are now open or is this new. People fascinate me. Especially when they perceive themselves as moving up socially. Do they truly not realise how horrid they are. I'm still on the bottom rung and doing fine!!

sorreeee not had chnce to post, crazy world. Hope to do better soon. That post, OMO, about interrupting, is tailor made for my DGS, lol.
Still waiting for visa to arrive, still in bed, still got severe case of 'CBA but have to anyway.' I'm not used to having no enthusiasm for owt, especially when there are lots of lovely happenings in my life. (If it is that bl@@dy black dog again, my hobnails are waiting!) Anyway, off to supermarket and to pay bills and stuff. Love you all, xxx
