these are the 4 ive completed so far, someone kindly posted the details about them on the 14 things in 2014 in memory of soulie thread. i got a lovely email from one of the ladies in this country who helps co ordinate it here as i think i inadvertently asked the USA site for my labels. basically children in hospital who are coping with cancer treatments are given beads of various types to mark the types of treatments and hospital visits they face, the bags are for them to keep their collections of beads in. i saw my local hospital on the list of places using this scheme so asked if i could take them directly there instead of posting them and the charity then having to post them back.
i think the sewing machine may well be out again today

    Hello :hello:
I am back from my holidays, it was really lovely!! Enjoyed spending time exploring Paris, doing a little shopping, eating pastries and coffee and most importantly spending some quality time with my OH :D

I have just caught up from where I have missed, so sorry to hear many of you are having difficult times at the moment, sending hugs & thoughts to you all!!
Freespirit I hope your DD is feeling better now! My mum did the moonwalk again this year and two of them went off in front but waited near to the finish line, my mum wanted to walk quicker but two of them were really struggling and feeling sick and she didn't want to leave them so she stopped back and kept there spirits up and they finished and they had both cried and one lady said to her she wouldn't of finished if it wasn't for mum's support bless her. I'm sorry to hear your DD's friend wasn't supportive in this way and I really do hope today she is feeling better.

My brain can't quite remember thing's I have read from further back so I apologise I can't mention other bits I have read :o

On the Christmas note I have got a couple more bits I have added to the box, some more scarves will be made, I need to add the buttons and bits to the knitted head bands and I am going to keep an eye out for some brown card so that I can make the 'handmade with love' labels and then tie the scarf & headband together nicely :)
I picked some 'kilner jars' up on offer in Wilko's the other day and have utilised these with flour & sugar in and labelled. They had the smaller 'kilner and mason' jars on offer too and I might pick a couple up for making the 'gift in a jar' presents for Christmas, I resisted until I have made a list of who is having what though so I don't waste any money.

Need to start thinking about what gifts we are doing for Father's day, my mum's birthday and then for my OH's birthday (although I have an idea what I am getting for him). We then have my OH's younger twin brother & sister's birthday to get and his mum&dad's 25th wedding anniversary. August is going to be very busy with weddings too so need to try and get it all sorted and wrapped ready.

Right enough babble from me, I will either pop back later or tomorrow morning and catch up again.

    Take care everyone
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

BEG, Freespirit, Ameyturtle and Nana - thank you for your thoughts on the flowers for DH Aunt's funeral. We've ordered a hand tied bouquet in a vintage style (soft pinks, etc) from DH and me and have chosen a basket on a similar theme which will be from the children. We're picking them up on Wednesday morning and taking them to the funeral director ourselves on the day. I feel so much better knowing we've spoken to the florist ourselves and she understood exactly what we meant about not having 'funeral' flowers. Thank you for your support which helped us make the decision.

Positive vibes and hugs to all that need them.

Recovering from yet another rotten cold (just when I was congratulating myself on being virus free for a few weeks) so after walking the dog this morning and doing some shopping am now chilling. Just watched Philomena - such a sad topic all those poor girls who had their babies taken away - but a lovely film all the same. Now watching Frozen - not really my cup of tea but must keep up with DGD, it's her all time favourite at the mo :D.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

So pleased you have sorted the flowers Peppapig - they sound lovely.
Hopefully your cold won't hang around for too long. DS bought me Philomena for Mothers Day and I really enjoyed it too. I had previously read the book and sometimes the films can be a bit disappointing but I found this one was fine. It really makes you think how times have changed.

Hi, just a quick pop in, before bed, today has been a right big mess. I drove my friend to a hospital appointment 62 miles away, she was told she'd be there for up to 4 hours and would not be able to drive after the xrays, scans and 'other investigations' so, a weekend of her worrying, arranging childcare for after school, only for her to be told by the consultant when she arrived that she needs to have a bowel scan at the LOCAL hospital first, as the things he will do will be dependent upon the result of this investigation!!!!!!!!! Is there no joined up thinking in the Appointment system?.grrrr.
Then I went to get compost and have damaged my elbow/wrist/arm tendons so I have 'toothache' all down my arm. Still, the sun is shining and it is quite warm, so not too bad, and at least we have a free NHS, So it is just the time and the fuel, we shall recover.
Now, off for a bath, and an early night. I promise I will be a happier MrsI tomorrow.
