Chrissy I am in awe of your organisation! can't believe how much you've sorted already. I am as they say "well jel"" xxx
Pinksteps glad your DS is coping well! I love those times when you can shut out the world. DH and I (when he was poorly) used to say we were having a pi@@ off world day! Crude I know, but very necessary for sanity. I'm eagerly awaiting news of your life changing approach to the new year. Have you been planting seeds with your Mum? xxx
Feisty it's flown hasn't it :( Sorry you are back at work tomorrow, but hoping you've some "me" time planned. Or "Mrs M's Orders" I like to call it :) My decal is reusable - supposedly tho how you'd put it back together I've no idea! I won't be trying xxx
B_e_g hope you are feeling a bit better! sending a big huge! the sign is so blooming right xxx
CazD we've a few lovely ladies in similar circumstances to you, hopefully you can help each other and the rest of us will help in any way we can. Very best of luck, let's hope this is your year xxx
Swipernoswiping you are on a roll! well done with all next years prep already :) X
RiskyB you are doing well too! I'm going to pop over and have a look at super drugs sale. Thank you for the link, I've bookmarked it to have a proper look tomorrow. X
7roland8 I'm proper weird, I loved untangling the fishing wire on the baubles haha. I love how you've done your slideshow, how very clever and put it to music on YouTube :) X
Spring Dreams I am a google fiend! I will investigate, now I know what I'm looking for :) Can't believe you've another two plus months to wait, seems a ridiculous amount of waiting time doesn't it. Hope it's passing quickly for you xxx
Ruth I blooming hate it when that happens! Feel like you've wasted so much time, I never used to give up, just persevered even tho I wasn't enjoying it !! Why I have no idea such a waste of time. I too can recommend the Trish thingy one (she's done a few festive tales I read last year) Sorry I am hopeless will pop back when I've looked at the app. Have you tried making any syrups for DHs coffee, I made blackberry syrup for DDs chocolate station (replicate costa Black Forest chocolate) it was OS very easy xxx
Linda-Lou did you get chance to play with you new things? X
Pixtotts that made me giggle, think Mastermind, and Pixtotts your chosen subject NAIL VARNISH :) haha. Ouch blisters are not nice. I bet you are glad to be going home, your Mum will have missed you xxx
his missus sending gentle hugs! it's such a tough decision but deep down you know what's best for your Dad. Thinking of you and your family xxx
Nitnurse I too used to really dislike new year but the last few years have turned it around! we celebrate with our darling next door neighbours, two other neighbours and the children, DGD2 this year. Give it a go, who knows the new you might love it xxx
Curly go you! it hard to resist isn't it. I've managed so far, not spend a penny since 24th (except for council tax- but doesn't count) but I'm itching a little now. Ha X
Money maker wonderfully put! you should post more often tho! X
Mrs M inventor of Mrs Ms Orders aka me time :) I was just looking at First Phone Call from Heaven, glad you enjoyed it. Have you read others by the same author? I did wonder if it'd make me cry? (You know what I'm like - over emotional) I'm glad you've picked the wizard of Oz stocking back up, don't forget to pop a picture on tho, big picture please :) xxx
Murie aha! that's why you should post more often! I do always enjoy you posts and now you are a ray of hope to so many of our lovelies too. xxx
Lizzie_B if we ever added up the cost of a little one, none of us would ever have one. You've got lots of love to offer the rest will fall into place. Specially if you stick with us, these lovelies have an answer for most things xxx
Linky how did the call go? Sounds like you've had a good day with Fingers and so organised, obviously that doesn't surprise me hahaxxx
3fortheholidays I was also going to suggest Debs, I was looking at handbags online in there earlier today X
Pigpen blooming hek, are you the only one your Mum had to actually buy for too, didn't you do a lot of her shopping- gutted! xxx
Quidsy go girl! that's brilliant shopping xxx
Hanley finally she's come up with a colour scheme! I do hope it's a simple design? Although you will be fed up of it by the end. I'm glad your second dinner went well, the children won't have even noticed! Their day was brilliant that's what matters isn't it xxx
Hollieinbloom I can tell already you are going to fit in just perfectly:) X
Freespirit hi sister from another mister :) that is just ridiculous fighting over chocolate isn't it. The world has gone mad. xxx
Blooming Tasty good to see you xxx
    Queenlizard welcome :)
Trendy how are you doing ???? Lovely to see you. Are the hats all ready? xxx we've missed you xxx
Pinklady well done you on your bargains, I will be in sainsbobs on Thursday probably be all gone by then tho xxx

Yeh thanks Fluffysox kept only the snow globe and the reindeer (changed the colour of their ribbon to match) in the living room so just had the lights really, but I've a brightly striped wall in my kitchen so the colourful baubles match in there :) xxx

Thoughts have begun to wander to what colour to choose for the bedroom, the next big project according to DS (who is footing the bill) But I will leave that for another day xxx

  • Morning everyone

fluffysox - so so cute. Thank you for sharing.

Nanamia - thanks for your good wishes - I'm getting there ;),

Mrs. MP - have reserved First Phone Call from library - only thing is when I read it impinges on stitchy time  :rotfl:

Not been to the shops yet. :( Have plenty of paper cards and tags for next year I think. Neice's 18th in Feb and I'm sorting a handmade teddy for her (all one offs) and possibly a nice purse to go with it. It's her brothers birthday end of Jan but I think he will be getting the usual money and something small to wrap to go with it. Don't know whether I dare give toiletries again :o

Dont really do NYE - DS will be staying a gf's I think as they are both at work on NYD so it looks like it will just be the two of us. Have had an alcohol free xmas due to meds and in all honesty I cant say that I have missed it. Only had a couple of chocs too.

Take care everyone if you are out and about in this awful weather. Supposed to hit here from lunchtime onwards.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning all,

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's not a NYE party goer, I was beginning to think I was the only one who didn't celebrate it. I do always feel a bit down, maybe it's the idea of saying goodbye to one year (which have usually been good years for me) and the fear of the unknown of the coming year. Oh, I dunno!

I definitely won't be in a partying mood this year but I think I will set one of my resolutions as "to celebrate NYE 2014 in style" :)
  • I'm not a Nye fan which seems to have landed me opening on new years day which I think will be a waste of time.

I've not really bought much in the sales a jumper out of next, a one touch can opener which will be mum's birthday present and a bag from Amazon which was mainly a purchase to test Amazon prime.

Have booked myself a week off in January hopefully I'll get it.

Think I'll meal plan some new meals I was given a soup book for Christmas so will be hopefully making some soup today too.

I feel rundown as of late and I think it's lack of nutrients, too much salt and too much caffeine :rotfl:

It's lovely to hear that everyone has been enjoying themselves and welcome to our lovely new de lurkers

Love and hugs to all xx

Huge big fat hugs and welcome to all newbies

Nanamia - The house and decs look amazing. I have PMd you xxxx
Fluffysox - Your boys are adorable

Pixtotts - Glad to help re Country Baskets, hope you get the ribbon

ChrissyG - Hope all goes well with your dog. Never been to Botany Bay, but its close enough to make sure I go soon.

riskyb - Thanks for mentioning Superdrug bargains, I will head there at lunchtime as I do 3 beauty hampers every year (1 for DD, 2 for nieces). I know this has been answered many times but I always buy nail polish in the sales for hampers the following xmas. Everything is stored in a cool dark place, and with the hampers I only wrap them a few days before xmas so all bottles get a shake before hampers are assembled to make sure nothing has settled.

Betasam - My xmas present list is a similar size to yours. I can't really cull my list, but I am looking to lower the budget per person and just get bargains during the year. Dont worry, You are not alone!! ;)

nitnurse - My DH is desperate to take the tree down, and TBH because we put it up too early (Nov 23rd!) I am itching to get my lounge back to normal. Might do it on NYD. We never do anything on NYE as can never get babysitters, and as mentioned previously the one and only time we did try (the Millenium) we had a sick baby and came home)

Pigpen - Been itching to put this on here for days, but didnt want people on here to think I was ungrateful. My friend got me a hideous brown sewn together scarf think (a snood??) and a matching hat. So not me, and I can quite convey how horrific it is in writing. Its too ugly to regift, and I think even the charity shop would think !!!!!!... Gonna have to just keep it stashed in case she ever asks when I am wearing it. :o

    Bloomingtasty - Hello Eljaycock :D

Thinking of all those with fertility issues and I hope 2014 is the year things go your way. :A

In Xmas related news I have found two xmas hand towels, which I bought from Dunhelm, and put away and never used, and two unused candles that were meant to go with presents. Oh well, at least I have them ready for next year.

I have also added all 2014 birthdays onto my Xmas app, so I can make sure I get those sorted too. I am also adding a "DO NOT LOSE" category, which isnt for pressies but to note things like the hand towels, crackers etc, and what they cost, and more importantly where I have put them. I want to have everything in one place.

Just realised, I never gave my bday on here. It's 22nd October. Can you add me on please OMO. Ta

Facebook MSE for us - I am on Facebook but I have to be honest, I have not been on it for about a year. I got bored of people with contstant updates who put what they had eaten for their breakfast/lunch/dinner, or what TV programme they were watching, and I didnt want to delete or block anyone as they would get offended. However, if it's just "US" then, yep I am in. :D

FiestyFidget - Hope you are feeling better, and coping back at work. I am back at work today too (but not really working as you can see) :rotfl::rotfl:
    Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once. :D
