    Morning, eugh wet and cold, the weather and me both.
    Looking out of my kitchen window I can see my lovely neighbour ripping out his hedge and my broken fence. He is soaked but is wearing a big smile, as if he is enjoying himself!!!!! OMO that is your quote in action.
    Chrissy the cake is truly brilliant clever DD. (I love jelly beans)
    Friend is coming round this morning to have a dress altered, and have coffee.
    I think I can steal a NSD for today, unless some sneaky direct debit gets in under the radar.
    I have no idea what a 'charmed' board game would look like, but could you not make one? if the bought one is rare or mega expensive? I remember making a monopoly game of local streets for DS1 when he was about 9 it lasted years, and was well played with.
    just a thought

    I think car boot sales may be your best option BUT they do come up (fairly) cheap on ebay too - this one has ended, but it should give you hope;

    been playing catch up with the cleaning and hoping to get most of it done before the weekend (that give me two hours to blitz the house then !!!)

    impressed with apples warranty DS2 said the home button on his ipod stopped working nipped him in the apple shop and they swapped his 10 months old one for a brand spanker! while in there a guy with a slightly bent phone was asking what could be done the girl said tell me youve never had this in your back pocket and sat down and ill give you the benefit of the doubt, he laughed and assured her he wouldnt do shuc a thing so she then told him to go him back it up and make an appt with a technician and it would be swapped as it was still under warranty.
    everyone in the shop seemed to be getting something swapped.

    hope everyone has a good weekend and something in it that really brightens their mood and gives them a smile

    Hello everyone.

    I dipped in and out of this thread towards the latter part of last year, but then I started working more and more hours; I have an ad-hoc job covering holidays and absences; then 2 members of staff left and I've been working full-time since the end of last year, and it's only due to slow down around Easter.

    On top of this I've had medical appts for my diabetes, I found a lump in my breast (turned out to be a harmless skin cyst), had eldest child going through options process and various appts to attend, youngests school has gone into special measures. Nan' dementia has got worse, and amongst things she's done are turning up at her GPs convinced she had an appt, and ringing emergency number to tell them she'd been robbed of cash by a uniformed officer. That led to several police turning up, in case it was true (it wasn't!) and now she has carers coming in. This week has fetched MIL having a lump in her breast checked out, hospital finding 2 which are a 'cause for concern' and our house being burgled, thief taking 2 laptops, hubbys wallet and using my set of keys with my both car and our house keys on, to steal hubbys car.

    wow, I feel exhausted reading all that lot ^^^. Was only meant to be a brief explanation why I hadn't been around!

    On to Xmas items, after my adult Niece posted a pic on facebook of the scrapbook she does every year, I picked her up a nice one in Boots when they were selling all their xmas stock off. It won't matter if she's already got one, as she can save for a future year. I also picked up a more childish one for my DD (aged 11) and have started to save items for her from this year, with the idea that I can wrap up the scrapbook and give her the items to put in for 2014, then from 2015 she can collect her own. Already saved are some tickets for a drama festival she participated in and came first in her category of verse speaking.:T

    Last year I bought my mum a beauty advent calendar as her xmas present, giving it to her early Dec. My supervisor was really interested and then disappointed when she saw them advertised half price and then they'd sold out before she got chance to order. What I've decided to do following an idea on here is to make the office I work in, their own beauty advent calendar. I'm starting to gather some beauty products together. I've got some items that have come as freebies from womens mags; mascara and lip gloss. Need to look through all my stash though and see what else i have.
